“What?” Kenneth blinked as he looked at Sierra.

“If I want to stab him, you’re going to hand me the knife,” Sierra said.

Kenneth stared at her for a long time. Thinking of her gentle nature, he agreed without hesitation. “No problem.” Sierra gave a slight nod, agreeing to it.

A moment later, the two of them walked out of the lounge in the private ward.

Kenneth glanced at John on the bed. He pressed his lips before saying carefully, “I’ll head out for now. If anything comes up, call Robin or me anytime.”

“Alright,” Sierra replied.

Kenneth gave her a quiet nod and walked out.

Marcus and Robin were both standing outside the room. The second they saw Kenneth come out, they spoke almost at the same time.

“How did it go?” Robin asked.

“How is Ms. Bell?” Marcus asked.

“It went alright.” Kenneth answered honestly, then looked at Marcus. “For now, your boss needs to take care of something with Robin’s boss. We’ll arrange a place for you to stay during this time. Once everything is settled, you can both go back to Harbor City.”

“Did Ms. Bell agree to stay?” Robin asked, a little surprised.

Kenneth nodded. “Yes.”

Robin visibly relaxed, but a hint of concern appeared in his eyes.

Kenneth noticed it at once. “What is it?”

“With Ms. Bell here, Mr. Henderson’s condition will most likely stabilize. He might even get better later.” As John’s most capable assistant, Robin understood him no less than Kenneth did. “But if he finds out Ms. Bell only came because she learned about his past, then…”

He did not finish, but Kenneth understood. At this point, though, there was no room to worry about that.

Hearing them speak in half sentences, Marcus made a bold guess. “So you’re planning to toss my boss aside once you’re done?”

“Not exactly,” Robin said.

“Will it affect my boss?” Marcus asked.

Robin and Kenneth looked at each other, then nodded together. “Possibly.”

Marcus frowned. “In a bad way?”

Kenneth went quiet.

Robin gave it a thought and said, “You could say that.”

“What are you doing?” Kenneth stopped him, looking at him cautiously.”

“I’m taking my boss back to Harbor City.” Marcus was an honest man. In his mind, the only person who mattered was the one paying him. “As a professional bodyguard, personal assistant, and driver, my instincts tell me this is definitely a trap.”

“You’re overthinking it.” Kenneth blocked his way.

Marcus looked at the hand in front of him and gave a very stern warning. “Move your arm. I’m very strong. Somebody’s going to get hurt real bad.”

Kenneth went silent.

Robin gave a light cough. “I can guarantee Ms. Bell won’t be harmed.”

“What’s that guarantee based on?” Marcus asked.

“My character,” Robin said.

Marcus showed Robin total disrespect. “You don’t have any.”
