Chapter 564

Sierra stayed in the master bedroom for a while, her thoughts drifting back to John’s life now.

Ever since she had known him, there were always several people taking care of his daily needs. Mr. Rogers, Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Lewis, and several other servants as well as private chefs for the major cuisines.

He was used to villas and estates surrounded by flowers and greenery. To him, all that green meant life.

So why was he living in an apartment now?

It could not be about money. What he made in a month was enough to buy a whole villa.

As she thought about it, she took out her phone to look something up. Before she could open the browser, she saw a message from Kenneth.

[Are you free this afternoon?]

Her fingers tapped on the phone. [I am, but not for long.]

She still had to review the projects in Jade City and the neighboring city. If she had time, she would write two bid proposals for the tenders. If she got too busy, she would only do one.

Kenneth quickly sent a voice message. “Can you come by when you have time? Robin and I both have things to handle this afternoon. Can you help us watch after him for about half an hour?”

Sierra called out his lie. “Didn’t you say I can call you anytime if something came up?”

“Well, what can I do? Something unexpected came up,” Kenneth said. “For the sake of the contract I signed with you, come over, please? We’ll be done in half an hour at most.”

“I’ll come by at three,” Sierra said.

“Alright!” Kenneth’s last voice

said.

Sierra then closed the chat. Kenneth really was treating John well. He signed that contract with her and sold himself without a second thought on the day she had arrived.

It was only for a week anyway. Once the week was over, she would leave.

“She agreed already,” Kenneth said to Robin. “You can go work on your company issues without having to worry. I’ll also have Forde and Lance keep an eye on things here and make sure Sierra can spend some time alone with John without anyone bothering them.”

“I still don’t think this will work,” Robin said.

“What do you mean it won’t work?”

Robin thought back over everything that had happened lately. “With Ms. Bell’s personality, she’ll only sit there and keep Mr. Henderson company for a while. She won’t show much concern, and she’s definitely not going to say anything sweet.

“Isn’t that normal?” Now that John was doing a little better, Kenneth was finally starting to think clearly again. “I would be worried if she did start to watch over him.”

Robin froze.

“Would you be nice to someone who basically cheated on you and then wouldn’t leave you alone?” Kenneth said.

Robin was about to say something, then suddenly thought about everything that had happened between John and Sierra. Even if it had all been done in the name of love, pain was still that.

Pain.

As long as she comes every day and stays a little longer, we won’t have to worry about John’s condition.” Kenneth had nearly tired himself out over this. “Her presence alone works better than any medicine or doctor.”

He had not understood why the month during the waiting period had gone so much better than this month after the divorce
