Chapter 60
Ruthless!
That was completely ruthless!
“You’re not worried if Sierra will realize this?” Kenneth continued to gossip once he found his courage again. “She and Nicholas are really close.”
John did not answer. He understood Sierra’s temperament better than anyone.
She was the kind of person who wouldn’t even stay friends once someone confessed, and she couldn’t reciprocate it. In her eyes, accepting a friendship she couldn’t keep clean was a burden.
Better to cut it off at the start than drag things out and send mixed signals and give someone hope.
Nicholas knew that perfectly well since he had grown up with her. That was why he had never confessed. Not even once.
“I’ll go and talk to the manager,” Kenneth said, suddenly energized, forgetting every decision he had quietly made in the car earlier. “Once it’s done, I’ll come back and report.”
“No need for that,” John said.
Kenneth paused. “What?”
John got out of the car. “I’ll go with you.”
Kenneth verbally agreed to it and, on his way out, even showed off to Robin about having a front row seat to the drama while Robin had to stay and watch the car.
Robin gave him a polite smile.
Robin felt that this wasn’t going to go smoothly. It felt like Kenneth wasn’t going up to watch the drama in a front row seat. It felt more like Kenneth was walking straight into his boss’s explosion radius.
Kenneth never thought that far, however. Once upstairs, he laid everything out for the restaurant staff. With John at his side, he arranged things even more thoroughly.
“If you send the flowers in and Sierra refuses them, you check the card and say you took them to the wrong room.”
John glanced at him.
The manager blinked.
“Once you’re out of the room, you make a point of saying something like, ‘Mr. Young is so smart! No matter how it turns out, he already left himself an excuse!“” Kenneth continued idly.
The cruelty in his plan was not just for John’s sake. He had his own issues with Nicholas in the first place.
“Keep your voice low on purpose, but not so low they can’t hear you inside. Understand?” Kenneth added.
“Understood.” The manager nodded and hurried off.
Kenneth perked up and bumped John lightly with his shoulder, a smug look on his face. “How’s my idea?”
“You used your brain for once,” John said lazily.
He wanted to remind Kenneth, but since Kenneth wanted to do this, John wouldn’t stop him.
Nicholas had known that coming back meant John would keep an eye on him. He just didn’t expect it to happen this quickly. He was in the private room right now, talking with Sierra about his years abroad, making her laugh before circling the topic

back to her.
“By the way, Holly the Demoness told me you divorced John because he picked up some woman outside?”
Sierra nodded.
“Don’t worry. I’ll help you get your revenge.” Nicholas pounded his chest. “Once it’s time, I’ll make him into a eunuch.”
Passing by the door, Kenneth froze.
How bold!
He looked up at John’s face. As expected, John’s expression was dark and terrible.
“Oh, and you should go to the hospital and get checked,” Nicholas added. “I heard men who mess around outside are quite dirty. Who knows if he picked something up and gave it to you?”
Sierra knew Nicholas was worried. “Alright.”
The moment those words fell, the air around John almost froze.
Kenneth almost felt the temperature drop and didn’t even dare to breathe loudly. He quietly said a prayer for Nicholas in his
heart.
How very bold of him!
“Go do something for me,” John said, his eyes dark.
“What?” Kenneth swallowed.
“Have the payment for the flowers and the ring charged through Nicholas’s account,” John replied, his tone calm and his gaze colder than ever. “Make that confession unquestionably his.”
