“Didn’t I tell you not to disturb us unless we call for you?” Nicholas said the instant the door opened, impatience clear in his

eyes.

The floor manager’s heart was pounding, but he kept his cool as he walked over to Sierra with a bouquet. “These flowers are for you, Ms. Bell.”

Sierra paused.

She stared at the red roses and extended her hand to take them.

“Sir, the item you asked for is ready,” another floor manager said quietly, slipping a velvet box into Nicholas’s hand.

Nicholas took it, frowning. “What item?”

When he opened the velvet box, he was completely perplexed and looked at the man who had handed him the box.

The floor manager smiled and whispered, “Good luck.”

Nicholas fell silent.

Were restaurants all this insane now?

He set the box down on the table with a sharp tap, his perfectly handsome face turning serious. “Call your manager.”

The restaurant manager appeared almost instantly, his posture straight. “How may I assist you, Mr. Young?”

“What’s all this supposed to be?” Nicholas flicked the ring box toward him, his irritation plain for all to see. “Who told you to prepare it?”

The restaurant manager raised his brows at him.

Nicholas leaned back in his chair. “Don’t pretend something is in your eye and hope that gets you out of this.”

“Are you serious?” the restaurant manager asked.

Nicholas stared. “Do I look like I’m joking?”

He was starting to suspect this place was a scam.

Had the restaurant manager gone insane?

“These were specially prepared to enhance your dining atmosphere with Ms. Bell,” The manager spoke earnestly. “If you don’t like them, I can have them removed immediately.”

“I’ve seen piano performances, violin performances, but never rings and roses. Do you think Ms. Bell is cheating?” Nicholas stood up, genuinely angry. “Or… Do you think I’m the kind of man who ruins other people’s marriages?”

Kenneth, who was listening in through the phone, was completely taken by surprise.

He turned to John, who was calmly sitting there. “What now? He said the key point out loud.”

“Ignore. Continue,” John said calmly, expression unchanged.
