Sierra's heart tightened when she heard Cyrus fell.
Cyrus comforted her. "Don't worry. I'm fine."
"In the future, walk slower when you're out and about." Sierra still said it after thinking it over. "If you feel unwell, see a doctor right away."
"Fine, fine. I will." Cyrus was thrilled that Sierra cared at all. "I'll listen to you."
Sierra helped him into the living room. John was next to her the whole time.
Only after getting Cyrus some tea and snacks did Sierra speak to John. "Tommy's upstairs getting something. He'll be down soon to hang the lights and decorations up with Marcus."
John nodded. "Sure."
Seeing that he still had not left, there was a hint of suspicion in Sierra's eyes.
"What about you?" John asked.
"What?" Sierra did not react right away.
"What are you doing later?" John looked around and asked calmly when he saw no other house staff around, "Is there anything you need me to do?"
Sierra really wanted to say no.
If he had not come with Cyrus, she would have already thrown him out.
"If you're not busy, come to the kitchen."
Anna suddenly appeared. She did not have as many concerns as Sierra. Since John was going to eat here later anyway, she might as well put him to work.
John answered, "Sure."
Just as John was walking toward the kitchen, Tommy came downstairs with his decorations.
Tommy caught sight of John from the corner of his eye but did not even greet him. He ran outside on his short legs with a soft voice carrying a hint of excitement.
"Can you help me hang this on the tree?"
Tony nodded. "Sure."
Only after meeting Sierra did he see a mother's care and concern for her daughter. Only after marrying Sierra did he feel Anna's care for him, even if that time had been brief. So brief that Anna had gotten into an accident before they could spend much time together.
Anna paused.
John's handsome features were cold and indifferent. "If you don't like it, you don't have to answer me when I call you. But out of respect, I should call you that."
"I took Sierra away from you, and I broke you two apart after waking up..." Anna tried to approach it from another angle.
"All of that was because you love Sierra." John knew what worked in his favor, and he knew what he should say at a time like this. "If I were you, I would've been even more direct."
Anna had nothing left to say. She was the type who couldn't take kindness.
If John had Nathan's foul temper, she could simply tell him to get lost no matter how articulate he was.
Unfortunately, John was too sincere. It was hard to turn on someone who came at her with sincerity.
If he wanted to call her that, then she would let him. She simply would not acknowledge it.
