Regrets Come Too Late (Sierra and Johnny) novel Chapter 74

Chapter 74

Sierra glanced at him silently once.

Then, she took Tommy’s hand and left.

Wait,John called after her.

Sierra stopped in her tracks.

Before she could speak, the car door opened and John stepped out. He walked over and stopped in front of her, his whole presence composed.

What is it?Sierra asked coolly, making her disdain perfectly clear to him.

John’s gaze swept over her hand holding Tommy’s as he said nonchalantly, Come here. I have something to discuss.

Sierra didn’t move.

Was she supposed to walk over just because he said so?

Why?

I don’t mind if you want Tommy to hear it too,John whispered into her ear as he walked past her.

Sierra’s lips pressed tightly.

Tommy looked up. Mommy, what’s wrong?

It’s nothing. Stay here for a bit,Sierra said as she patted Tommy’s head, her expression calm and reassuring. I’m going over there to talk with your father. Once we’re done, we’ll go home.

Tommy nodded. Okay.

Sierra tapped the tip of his nose with her finger before walking toward John.

As the two of them moved farther away, Tommy glanced at his smartwatch and tapped the screen a few times, sending out a

message.

Sierra didn’t notice it at all. When they were far enough, she looked at John as if he were a stranger, her tone distant.

Go ahead. What do you want?

The cut on Pamela’s forehead. Did you do that?” John asked, his dark eyes fixed on her.

Sierra paused.

Her first instinct was to fight back and argue with him.

Then she remembered how he always sided with his own men. She decided it was not worth her breath and simply admitted it.

Yes. Planning to get revenge for her? There are some rocks over there. Pick one up and smash it into my forehead. The injury should be about the same.

John kept staring at her.

It had only been a few days, but she had already grown such a temper.

Go and apologize to her tomorrow,John said.

It wasn’t my fault. Why should I apologize?Sierra countered.

She wasn’t the least surprised he would say this, though.

I’m giving you one night to think about it,John said; he stated his purpose directly, with none of his former patience or gentleness. If you’re not at Lakeside Villa to apologize to her in person by noon tomorrow, I’ll tell your father where you live.

Sierra’s pupils narrowed.
