She struggled, only stilling when I bit down harder, warning her. She began to shift back to human form, and I backed away, doing the same, somehow instinctively. Marissa sat up, breathing shallowly, her eyes filled with tears. She’s trying to guilt me, desperation overtaking common sense. Just because she’s changed to human doesn’t mean I’m about to change my mind, let alone my plan.

“Don’t kill me,” she pleaded as Hades changed and came over to my side, his eyes filled with awe as he put an arm around me, “Okay. I was angry, I wasn’t thinking…” she trailed off, her voice fading as she looked up at both of us in panic.

“Men!” Hades thundered, looking pissed.

Marissa’s eyes widened, and she began to scramble backwards, whimpering to herself. Jackson and two other men appeared, holding silver cuffs.

She had no escape. She was well and truly caught and the irony was, it was all her own fault.

“No,” Marissa shrieked, shaking her head vehemently side to side, “No, don’t. I won’t do it again, I swear. Stop!” she protested as the men grabbed her by the arms and hoisted her to her feet.

They’re rough. None of them even looks sympathetic towards her, despite being Hades’ fiancée only hours ago. Clearly, they didn’t like her.

Jackson pulled her arms roughly behind her back. She lashed out, kicking and flailing her arms but it was futile in the end. The cuffs were placed around her wrists, restraining her and preventing her from shifting.

“Raven you bitch,” she howled, turning to look at me with hatred, “do you think this is over with? Do you think I won’t kill you when I get the chance? You’re on borrowed time,” she screamed, “I won’t let you get away with this. Wolf or not, I’ll get you,” she vowed, her voice cracking “and when I do…”

I flip her the bird, further pissing her off as Luna laughs in the background.

Good one. Maybe she’ll trip over a rock or something on the way so we have something more to laugh at.
