Chapter 133
He sounded bored now, even as his eyes began to slide towards the stairs and the door above them.
“You think I’m just going to let Raven get away with this?” she snapped, standing up and straightening her shoulders, “after all she’s done?”
“Do you have a choice? She’s Hades mate now. Luna of the Blood Moon Pack. Do you think she’s going to be easily defeated? Even her wolf is stronger than yours. Unless you have some sort of army, you’re never going to get the revenge you want,” he scoffed. “Now hurry up before the guards come back.”
He was growing nervous now. The longer they took to leave, the more chance they had of being discovered together. He just wanted Marissa gone. It was enough he hadn’t killed her. Why was the bitch being so damn difficult? Maybe he should have killed her; it might have been safer.
Marissa smiled crookedly at him. “You know,” she said quietly, “the sex wasn’t that great that I owe you my loyalty.”
Sure, it had been mindblowing, but he’d been nothing but a pawn to her. It was almost laughable that he thought he was anything more to her. She only loved Hades, nobody else.
There was a stony look to her face now. As though she was up to something but he was too slow to respond. Too slow to comprehend. Like anybody else, he was underestimating how far she would go to protect her own skin. It was his downfall.
