Rejected, Abused, I Fall for the Forbidden Alpha (by Riley Scott) novel Chapter 136

Chapter 136

Raven POV

“Damn that bitch,” Aeress sighed, flopping onto the sofa and looking moodily at me, “maybe she’ll get trapped in a bear trap or something,” she muttered.

I laughed despite my concern. It was just like Aeress to lift my mood.

“They’ll find her. I don’t know why Hades insisted I stay here. I could help. I could take her,” I said irritably, plopping myself on the opposite sofa.

He was so protective. It was nice to have somebody who cared that much, but I wasn’t exactly made of glass. Then again, I had only shifted once, so maybe it was necessary in order to conserve my strength.

“Men,” Aeress sighed, “they act like it’s the Middle Ages and women are useless. It’s like a caveman instinct or something,” she beat on her chest with both hands, “me Jackson, me Hades. Me so smart,” she drawled, causing both of us to dissolve into giggles.

Suddenly Aeress’s face changed, and she got up, putting a hand to her mouth and making gagging noises. I hurried after her as she almost ran to the nearest bathroom and threw up, gasping and groaning. I pulled back her hair, keeping her from vomiting on it.

“If you weren’t well, you should have said something,” I scolded her as she wiped her mouth with the back of her hand and grimaced.

“Or is this because you’re worried Jackson might get hurt?” I asked suddenly, “because he’ll be fine, Aeress. There’s a lot of men searching for Marissa, including Hades.”

It was meant to reassure her, but it didn’t seem to make much of a difference. If anything, she just turned paler.

She groaned and then hastily washed her face before slowly making her way back to the lounge room, her face ashen.
