Rejected, Abused, I Fall for the Forbidden Alpha (by Riley Scott) novel Chapter 145

Chapter 145

“Fuck,” I put my head in my hands, feeling frustrated with myself, “I really fucked things up, didn’t I Aeress?” I said glumly.

I’d more than fucked things up. I’d ruined the trust between Raven and me. Now our relationship was in jeopardy, and it was all my fault.

Raven was sure to hate me for this. I didn’t blame her. I had fucked things up majorly and now I wasn’t even sure if I was going to be able to fix things.

My own mate had fled the room and gone running because I couldn’t learn to communicate with her better. Because I thought I knew everything and that I was always right. I’d seen the light fade from Raven’s eyes when I spoke, and instead of pausing, instead of trying to listen to her, I had overridden anything she had to say, determined to have things my own way. I was an asshole and that was putting it politely.

Aeress was putting everything into perspective. I was never going to find another woman like Raven, not for as long as I lived. I would do anything for her, I realized with sickening clarity, even have a baby with her to keep her happy and by my side forever.

The moon goddess didn’t make mistakes when it came to your mate. Raven was my perfect match. I had to make things right. I sure as hell didn’t want to have a second chance, mate, when the perfect one for me was right here.

“Yes, you fucked up royally,” Aeress sniffed, “Just explain everything to her Hades and she’ll understand. You’re not a monster, far from it. You’re brave, kind, loving and protective. She didn’t have the best childhood either,” she sighed, “and Raven knows more than anyone what it’s like to be abused and harmed as a child. She won’t let history repeat itself with her child. Both of you need to understand one another’s perspective. Go and find her, Hades,” she urged, “apologize. Make her understand. You need to let her in, be vulnerable. This isn’t something you can keep hiding. For so long, your fears about becoming our father have held you back. Don’t let it anymore. Find a way to prove to yourself that your fears are not true. Find a way to push the past away forever, or you might just lose the best thing that’s ever happened to you,” she warned.
