Chapter 187
Hades sighed and then stared directly at Jackson his brow creasing. His eyes glazed over, and I saw him silently communicating with his best friend. Slowly, Jackson withdrew from the room, no doubt about to carry out whatever silent orders had been given to him.
I really hated it when they did that. It was like they were keeping secrets from nie, and I wanted to be included in the conversation. Just because I was pregnant didn’t mean I was made of glass.
“What say we discuss the wedding now?” Hades tried, turning back to me.
“Is it such a good idea right now?” I asked incredulously, “Considering everything that’s about to happen?”
“You can’t keep prolonging it. Legally, we have to be wed to officially grant you the power of Luna and give you status within the pack. Besides, I want to marry you,” his voice lowered, “and I don’t want to wait much longer. It’s killing me that you’re not my wife yet but already marked. I’m a traditional values kind of guy when it comes to this. I’m not perfect, but I want you to have my last name and my child.”
So did I, but I didn’t want to risk being attacked during the ceremony either. Besides, Hades wanted a large wedding, and right now it wasn’t possible. I tried to compromise, realizing just how important this was to Hades.
“Fine, but we have the wedding here, not at my father’s pack. That way if anything happens…” I trailed off, “and it should be small and intimate.”
The last thing I wanted was to have to organize another big wedding, considering how the last one had gone.
Hade’s grin grows wider. “I’m so happy you said that.”
He looked like the cat that got the cream and was too damn smug for his own good. He was up to something.
“Why?” I demanded suspiciously.
“Come with me,” he said gruffly, reaching out and taking hold of my hand.
He dragged me out to the grounds. I gasp as I take in the rose Arbor, the minister, my brother, my father, and Aeress and Jackson waiting patiently for me.
Everybody who mattered was here. I look at Hades, realization dawning on me.
