Chapter 188
Third Person POV.
It was time. Marissa could feel the tension in the air and the sickening excitement coming from the rest of the hunters. All of them had big smiles on their faces as they gathered in a large group, and she was forced to watch them and listen to their disgusting plan with a fake smile on her face and forced to stand next to Darins as though she was his trophy.
Disgusting.
“Alright, alright,” Darius spoke, nodding at the others, “we’ve managed to extinguish two packs thus far,” he said as the crowd cheered and Marissa clung her hands so tightly together that her knuckles turned white, “but we aren’t finished yet,” he added almost shouting at them as they laughed, anticipation on their faces.
Silence. The hunters nodded amongst themselves in agreement.
Tell us the plan!” One shouted, before glaring at Marissa.
Even now, none of them trusted her. It showed in their expressions and the tone of voice they used when they had to address her. She ignored it. Her pride no longer mattered. All she could focus on was her own survival and hoping that she might be provided a way to escape, although her conscience nagged at her, prompting Marissa to wish there was some way to warn Raven what was coming.
“It’s time to take down the Blood Moon Pack,” Darius announced eagerly as the hunters shot each other glances, silently communicating with each other.
This announcement wasn’t unexpected but several hunters had this reservation. None of them liked Marissa, and none of them trusted her, even if she was Darius’s mate. They all privately thought she was a bitch, and if she hadn’t been Darius’s, the most fearful of the hunters, some of the men might have even had their own turns with her.
“Is that such a good idea?” One hunter queried sharply, “After all Alpha Hades isn’t going to be taken down easily. He’s one of the strongest Alphas in the country!”
