Chapter 218
+15 Banys
Third Person POV
She smirked to herself, unable to hide the satisfaction on her face. It had been too easy, framing that fucking slut and making her regret ever trying to cross her. Now Marissa was in the dungeon, facing the consequences of what Alice had forced her to do, and Alice was now on top, just like she had always been. She’d personally eliminated the threat to her, and nothing had made her happier.
She straightened up as she heard the sound of footsteps approaching her, already smelling his distinct scent wafting down the hallway.
He’d been so easily manipulated. Fallen for her tricks, but he always had. He’d never questioned her, not ever. Any omega who dared to try and betray her were quickly handled. She refused to let anybody get close enough to Damien to snitch. Although she doubted he would believe anybody stupid enough to go to him.
A hand gently gripped her arm, Damien stepping in front of her, his eyes narrowed as he took in her wound, which was already beginning to heal.
“Are you okay?” he murmured.
Her heart skipped a beat like it always did. He was so handsome, so caring. Everything about him was perfect to her. He’d always been kind, concerned about pack members. It was what made him different from other arrogant Alphas who thought that pack members were merely there to serve them.
“I just don’t understand,” Alice feigned concern, “what made her go off like that. I swear, Damien, one moment I was merely chatting with her and the next it was like a bomb exploding. I had no warning,” she breathed.
Damien scowled.
“Did she hurt you badly?”
She slowly shook her head, fighting back the smile that wanted to curve on her lips.
“No. It was just shocking. I wouldn’t have dreamed an omega would act that way towards any pack member. The omegas we have are always so respectful.”
“She’s new, but that’s no excuse,” Damien growled with frustration.
She put a gentle hand on his arm, watching the way his eyes continued to gleam with anger and the way his body remained tense.
She had to pretend to be the concerned, kindhearted person she pretended to be in front of him again.
“Maybe you should be lenient towards her. Maybe it was me,” she said quietly, bowing her head, “I might have said something to provoke her.”
He scoffed.
“Alice, you’re too nice. If I let her get away with this, then what’s to stop Marissa from stepping out of line again? She needs to know her place in the pack and that she’s nothing special.”
“Still, it doesn’t seem right,” Alice protested, even though she was relishing the fact that Marissa was going to be punished very soon.
“Sorry, Alice but I can’t abide by your wishes this time,” Damien said, frustrated, “I can’t allow any of my pack members to be harmed and especially not an important warrior. Marissa deserves to be punished.”

She almost glowed at his praise. Finally he was noticing her. She’d worked hard to become one of the strongest warriors in the pack, wanting to catch his eye, and it was working. Every hour of training, every drop of sweat had been worth it. Now, nobody was able to defeat her, other than Damien and Aaron annoyingly.
“I appreciate the loyalty Alpha.”
“Just Damien Alice, you know how much I hate being addressed by my Alpha title. We aren’t formal in the Shadow Pack,” he said gruffly.
She smiled softly.
“Well then, Damien. I thank you for your concern, but I promise you I’m fine. See,” she held up her arm, her eyes sparkling, “already healing. I’ll be good as new,” she insisted.
“You can skip training tonight,” he told her firmly, “and go back tomorrow. Rest tonight.”
She opened her mouth to protest but one look at his face and she fell silent.
Secretly, she was enjoying the fussing. Every time he showed her some form of affection she felt as though he was getting closer to her and that her dream of becoming Luna was within her reach.
After all, he wouldn’t take the trouble to find her if he didn’t like her? Right?
