Rejected, Abused, I Fall for the Forbidden Alpha (by Riley Scott) novel Chapter 235

Chapter 235

“No,” I sneered, “this is the perfect time for this conversation. Get it through your thick head,, Alice. I’m not going to make you my mate, not ever. I feel nothing for you,” my voice turned cold, “and I will never see you as anything but a pack member. You’re the one who convinced herself you meant something to me, and that’s your own fault. Even if I had made you my Luna, I would never have fallen in love with you. It would have simply been a mutual convenience, nothing more.”

“It still can be,” she said in desperation, “I don’t care. I’ll agree to any conditions you have Damien, I’ll sign a contract, I’ll bear your heirs. I’ll keep my distance when you want me to. I can do everything you desire, just make me your mate. I refuse to think of that bitch being the one you choose.”

I was dangerously close to throwing all my morals aside and flinging her through the nearest window. As it was the expression on my face was so fierce that Alice began to automatically back away from me.

“Never ever call my mate a bitch in front of me ever again,” I hissed, “or you’ll find exactly what makes me one of the most powerful Alpha’s in this country. You think being a woman makes you untouchable? That I won’t dare lay a hand on you? My patience with you is running thin,” I sneered, “and if you ever talk about my mate in such disparaging terms in front of me, I’ll show you just how painful torture can be.”

She blanched.

Even Aaron looked frightened of me.

“Damien I…” Alice began, licking her lips.

I’d had enough. I turned on her, eyes flashing and turning dark. My wolf was fighting the urge to tear her from limb to limb. He was devastated at our loss of Marissa and angry she had severed the mate bond.

Neither of us had any intention of accepting it however. As long as there was hope we could get her back, we would never utter the words required to sever the bond completely.

“Leave,” my tone brooked no arguments.

She hesitated. My expression turned dangerous. She swallowed hard and then quickly rushed out the door but not before letting out one last parting shot.

“You’ll regret this Damien!”

“Damien, I’ve never seen you so angry. Do you really care about Marissa this much?” Aaron’s voice was tentative.

“Yes. I should have just accepted this bond in the beginning instead of fighting it. I was a fool, Aaron, and I’m not going to make the same mistake again. I’m going to find her,” I exhaled, “and when I do, I’m going to prove to her that I can be the mate she deserves. I’m never going to let her slip through my fingers ever again,” I vowed.

He nodded.

I turned and headed for the door, confusing him.

“Damien where are you going? There’s pack business to take care of, paperwork that needs your signature.”

I gave a scornful laugh.

“None of that’s important to me right now. I’m going to find her, Aaron. I’m going to find my mate and bring her home. You’re in charge until I get back and whatever you do,” I glanced over my shoulder, “don’t take your eyes off of Alice.”

He knew everything This was his chance to not let me down again and he recognized that indly

“I will,” he promised grimly, “but part of me is hoping you’re wrong about Alice Damien. Pecause if she a betraying us, lying to our faces, then there’s no telling what she’s been up to all these years.”

“I know,” I said as I paused in the doorway, “and as loath as I am to admit it, I’ve been a naive, stupid fool for letting her manipulate me like this. The moment she poses a direct threat and we find out who she’s speakingo. she’s done.”

“Can you bear to do it considering you’ve grown up together?”

“I won’t let anybody threaten my pack or hurt my mate. The moment she lied to me and made me hurt Mari her time was numbered.”

I left before he could get another word in, heading right for the forest.

Marissa had a headstart but I was fast and I was determined. I would not come back until I had her and until I convinced her that my pack was her home.
