Chapter 237
Rogues. On neutral territory. In human form.
I wanted to laugh at the absurdity of it. I was only at the beginning of my journey and already I was being waylaid in a situation far more deadly than anything I could imagine.
My hopes that it might only prove to be a single rogue were dashed when I heard the sounds of multiple footsteps approaching.
Shit. I could take out maybe one or two, but there were so much more.
I felt my stomach churning.
Maybe leaving in such a hurry, alone, hadn’t been the greatest idea after all.
It was too late to regret that now. Way too late.
I was going to have to fight my way out of this and hope I didn’t die in the process.
White wolf or not, I wasn’t invincible. I could die just like any other wolf. I could bleed.
But I wouldn’t let them trap me. I knew what they liked to do with females when they got their hands on them, and I felt sick at the mere thought of it. I’d been through enough of that with Darius and I would be damned if I let that happen again.
They stepped out from the shadows. My heart sank like a stone in my stomach.
Six of them. All of them were looking at me with glowing red eyes and smirks on their faces. All of them thin with long hair, facial stubble, thin bodies, and pure hunger in their eyes.
“Well, well, well look what we have here,” the one in front said with glee, “looks like we have a beauty on our hands, boys.”
He licked his lips and I shuddered with revulsion.
“Fuck you,” I said evenly.
If I were going to die, then I would go out fighting. I refused to show any weakness or fear in front of them. Men like them only relished it. I wouldn’t give them the satisfaction.
Maybe if I made them angry they might let down their guard and give me the opening I needed.
“She’s sassy,” another one added, winking at me.
“I think I’ll enjoy breaking her in,” the one with silver hair said with sparkling eyes.
“She looks angelic, doesn’t she. Almost pure. Those are the best kind,” the leader, the one in front said slowly, raking his eyes over me. “They all scream in the end though, no matter how brave they try to be. You might as well give up girly,” he chuckled, “you have no chance of winning against us. Save yourself the hassle of being seriously injured and we will make this a pleasurable experience for you instead of a painful one.”
He leered at me.
“Do you think that’s enough to persuade me to surrender?” I scoffed, not sure where this bravery was coming from. “You’re hardly some casanova. Does that line usually work for you?”
He laughed, genuinely amused.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a woman with as much fire as you. I hope you do fight us,” he drawled, because putting out that fire is going to feel amazing. Nothing better than seeing the hope on a woman’s face slowly disappear when she realizes what we have in store for her and that nobody is coming to save them.”
“You’re disgusting and nothing but cowards,” I sneered, “does it make you feel like a real man when it takes six of you to overpower one woman? It’s hardly a fair fight don’t you think?”
“You have quite a mouth on you,” the brown haired one in the back growled, “I’m going to enjoy putting it to use.”
“I’ll bite it off,” I promised him, “and leave you without a manhood.”
“Hard to bite if you have no teeth,” he said with a grin and I almost vomited at the insinuation.
