Rejected, Abused, I Fall for the Forbidden Alpha (by Riley Scott) novel Chapter 270

Chapter 270

Asher POV

“Mate,”

my wolf whispered forlornly as we darted back into the packhouse, pressing our body against the wall our breathing heavy and shallow. “We found our mate.”

There was nothing but pain in her voice. We both knew that somebody with such a high status in the Shadow Pack would ever acknowledge us as their mate. It was futile to even hope. No doubt Aaron was cursing his bad luck right now and trying to come up with a method to reject us.

We should make it easy on him. But if word got back to Jacob….I dreaded to think what the consequences might be. He wanted this alliance, and he wanted me. It left me with no direction to turn. I was well and truly at a loss on what to do. Did I risk offending Jacob by rejecting Aaron or did I hold my tongue and hope Jacob didn’t sense anything?

I lowered my head, feeling numb.

None of those options was particularly acceptable but I had no choice.

A low growl filled the air, and then I felt my body pressed harder against the wall as a man pushed me back, his body stiff with anger.

My eyes slowly rose as my heart sank. I knew that scent and knew instinctively who was there.

Sure enough, Alpha Jacob’s eyes were fixated on me, and there was a dangerous expression on his face as he lowered his head to stare at me.

“What did I tell you about keeping a low profile?” he hissed, his mouth inches from mine as I trembled, “I warned you not to talk to anybody, and you dared to flirt with the likes of him?” he snarled.

“I didn’t,” I sobbed, “I swear, he was just being polite. I didn’t tell him anything, not even my name!”

“You think I believe you?” he snapped, his hands reaching to grab my arms, his fingers pinching into my skin, ” you just thought you could convince him to take you away from me, didn’t you slut?”

My breath hitched.

“I didn’t,” I sobbed, “I promise, I said nothing of the sort! I wouldn’t disobey you like that!’

He did not look convinced, his head lowering as he sniffed my neck. He pulled back slightly, his eyes glinting with

rage.

“I can smell him on you. I saw the way you smiled at him,” he growled, “acting all shy so that he would be interested. I’m telling you now, Asher, a man like that would never be interested in a runt like you,” he warned.

“I know,” I whispered brokenly, “I know my place, Alpha Jacob.”

“Do you?” he said, tilting his head, “or do I need to teach you?”

I instantly thought of the whippings I had previously endured, and my body shook as I shook my head almost

frantically. I didn’t want to bear the pain again.

“Please,” I whispered, my voice cracking, “I swear to you, I didn’t….’

“You’re mine, Asher.” he interrupted, his eyes blazing, “you’ll always be mine. You’re a plaything to me, a way to increase my strength and nothing more. Your body,” his hand dropped lower and cupped my breast as I stilled, all mine. Just because I’ve controlled myself until now doesn’t mean I intend to forever.”

I wanted to yank his hand off me, but I didn’t dare.

“What are you going to do?” I licked my lips, my eyes sliding away from him.

“I think you need to be taught a valuable lesson,” he smirked.

I didn’t like the sound of that. My eyes slowly slid to the exit but he chuckled and moved in closer, his knee between my legs, his face so close I could feel his breath.
