Chapter 278
Asher POV
15 A
I wake up to the feeling of warm arms wrapped around me and the feel of cotton sheets beneath me. For a moment, I forget what happened to me, and then memories come flooding back. I gasp, sitting upright and look over to see that Aaron is beside me, shirtless, his hair tousled, and a small smile curved on his lips.
Had he stayed here the whole night? I blushed at the thought. When I moved, he instantly startled awake, and froze as his eyes met mine.
“Good morning,” he mumbled drowsily.
I flushed as he smiled at me.
“Where am I?” I choked out, looking around the room, which reeked of masculinity.
“My room,” he said easily as he sat up, and I started to climb out of bed. “You fell asleep on the way back, so I brought you here.”
He pointed at another door in the room as I felt my bladder, which was about to burst.
“Bathroom’s that way.”
I almost ran to it. I heard him chuckle as I did my business and then, without thinking, started the bath, my eyes wide as I took in the luxury of the bathroom.
I’d barely climbed in when the door opened.
I screamed and put my hands across my breasts.
He ignored me, doing his business while I gaped at him. He seemed perfectly at ease, washing his hands and then perching on the toilet to face me.
“Are you crazy? Get out,” I motioned at him, wishing the ground would swallow me up.
“We’re mates. No need to be shy,” he smirked, “and besides, what if you drown or something? I would never forgive myself.”
Was he for real?
“I’m not going to drown,” I grumbled, “and there’s such a thing as privacy, you know.”
He surprised me again.
“Let me wash your hair for you.”
I didn’t even have time to protest before he was kneeling behind me and gently pushing me down to wet it.
I felt his hands gently massaging my scalp and slowly relaxed. It felt heavenly. I couldn’t remember the last time anybody had treated me so gently like this.
I almost cried.
“So beautiful,” he purred.
“Aaron,” I gasped.
“Let me take care of you,” he murmured into my ear, “you have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for my mate.”

“But I’m not pretty,” I whispered.
His hands stilled. I could almost feel the anger surrounding him.
“Whoever told you that is full of shit. You’re the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen.”
I blinked.
He emptied the bathtub, and I wanted to object, but then he refilled it.
Now what was he doing?
He started stripping off his clothes, and realization dawned.
The tub was big enough to fit three people in it.
I instantly closed my eyes as he chuckled and then peeked.
Holy hell. The man’s abdomen was like marble. He had a six-pack; his body was so toned and perfect that my mouth fell open.
I wanted to touch him. So badly that I shocked myself.
“You can look at me all you want, babygirl,” he rumbled in amusement as I quickly turned my head away, “I don’t mind so long as it’s you doing the looking.”
I heard splashing as he got in, and then, reluctantly, my head turned back as he grinned at me.
“Isn’t this better? Now I can wash you,” he suggested with an arched brow.
“Aaron,” I shook my head, and he laughed at me.
