Chapter 52

Raven POV

The hunter lunged forward towards me. I sidestepped and used his momentum to shove him into the side of the car, causing him to make an oomph sound. He turned, a scowl on his face. “Bitch, you got lucky,” he sneered.

I raised a brow and waited. Sure enough, he stepped closer and threw out a punch. My head moved quickly to the side and I kicked, sending him staggering backwards. He let out a shout of anger and began to punch, over and over again. I continued to dodge, grabbing his arm and headbutting him. He groaned, grabbing at his head. I kneed him in the groin, and he fell to the floor clutching his privates.

I turn and run, heading for the trees, knowing I might need to gain some distance from the car in case more hunters were lurking about. At least the trees would offer some form of shelter from flying arrows. He staggers after me, stumbling along, breathing heavily. I can hear him behind me. Once I’ve found a small clearing, I turn around and face him again, eyeing him expectantly.

For a hunter, I would have expected far better than these abysmal fighting skills.

“Bitch,” he shouted, finally catching up.

“I told you not to underestimate me,” I said, breathing hard, “tell me what’s it like being beaten by a girl?”
