Chapter 58
Third Person POV
“Honey, you can’t scare me like that,” Jackson admonished as she came out of the bathroom freshly showered, wrapped only in a towel. “Do you have any idea how worried I was about you?” he fought to keep his voice down, his fear genuine.
He couldn’t get the image of Aeress’s wolf fighting against the hunter out of his head.
“I was fine, Jackson. You don’t have to treat me with kid gloves. I’m already feeling guilty about leaving Raven behind,” she said in a whoosh, taking her towel off and drying her hair with it as Jackson’s eyes followed her every move, gulping hard.
She was so damn sexy it was impossible to take his eyes off of her.

“What if I do something for you?” Marissa’s not one to give up easily.
It’s bordering on desperation now, and Hades tries to shake his head, but she continues to press on.
She pulls at his pants, tugging at them. He puts a hand on top of hers, instantly quashing that idea. “No,” he said firmly. “Leave.”
Enough was enough. She needed to take the hint. He was close to losing the last thread of his temper, and she was in danger of seeing exactly how angry he could become. He didn’t want that.
“We’re going to be married soon. Don’t you think we should try and see how much sexual compatibility there is between us?” she argued, blinking back tears, not understanding how he could refuse her so quickly.
