Chapter 57
“What if I do something for you?” Marissa’s not one to give up easily.
It’s bordering on desperation now, and Hades tries to shake his head, but she continues to press on.
She pulls at his pants, tugging at them. He puts a hand on top of hers, instantly quashing that idea. “No,” he said firmly. “Leave.”
Enough was enough. She needed to take the hint. He was close to losing the last thread of his temper, and she was in danger of seeing exactly how angry he could become. He didn’t want that.
“We’re going to be married soon. Don’t you think we should try and see how much sexual compatibility there is between us?” she argued, blinking back tears, not understanding how he could refuse her so quickly.
“Marissa, this is a contract marriage. Even though we have to perform the act of sex with each other, it doesn’t mean that we’ll be anything more than civil. You don’t have to go to such extreme lengths either. Until the wedding, I’m not going to…” he trailed off at the look in her eyes.
“I know,” she shrieked, frustrated beyond belief, “you don’t want sex before that. What is wrong with you? I’m standing here, in a sexy nightgown, offering to sleep with you, and you don’t want it? Why? What is wrong with me? Why don’t you find me attractive?”
How much more of this indifference was she going to be forced to take? He was driving her insane! Even if he didn’t want her, she wanted him. Badly. Enough to make her fully aroused and enough to keep her dreaming of coming together with him, night after night. She’d never felt this way before about anyone, and it was driving her insane that she couldn’t have him.
