Rejected, Abused, I Fall for the Forbidden Alpha (by Riley Scott) novel Chapter 86

Chapter 86

Third Person POV

Marissa blankly stares at her phone, feeling uneasy. So far, she hadn’t heard any news from her mother. She should have reached the other pack hours ago and handed Raven over to that pig of an Alpha who had offered to marry her. Maybe there had been some sort of complication or the limousine had broken down, she thought, wrinkling her nose. Either way, her mother should have texted her by now to let her know what was happening. This was unlike her, and it unnerved Marissa, causing her to continually glance at the phone as though expecting a text or call at any moment, almost desperate to hear the familiar sound of her ringtone.

She smiled to herself. When her mother had broached her with this plan, Marissa had readily agreed to find an excuse to get Raven out of the packhouse. The money they had been offered would come in handy. Lately, her mother’s investments had been losing money and it was affecting the River Moon Pack. Not only would the bride price save them, but it was also a way to finally rid them of that pest Raven once and for all. That little bitch seemed to have nine lives, escaping death several times. At least this way, they had gotten some money out of it. It seemed like a good deal. It wasn’t like she felt anything towards Raven anyway. She’d long known they weren’t real sisters. Her mother had told her when she was old enough to understand. Marissa was the apple of her mother’s eye and Raven was nothing but a pawn. She had outlived her purpose now. If she wouldn’t die than this was the next best thing. They didn’t need a servant anymore anyway. There were plenty of omegas around for that. Her mother had finally agreed to be rid of Raven, and Marissa could not be happier.

“Didn’t Raven come back with you?”

That annoying slut Aeress pokes her head into Marissa’s room without even knocking. Arrogant bitch. Marissa can’t stand her. No matter how much she apologized, Aeress still treated her coldly. That would change once she became Luna. She forces a fake smile on her face. Right now she had to be friendly, Aeress was Hade’s sister after all, and she couldn’t afford to offend him or her for that matter.

“She wanted to do some more shopping, so I let her be. Maybe she’s gone back to our old pack for a visit or something. She mentioned she wanted to get something she left behind,” she shrugs, feigning a

calmness she doesn’t feel.

Was Aeress about to ruin her plans and intervene? She gritted her teeth, trying hard to fight back the glower on her face.
