Chapter 91

I was no pushover. I wasn’t kind-hearted, not in the way she believed. I’ve been waiting for this for a long time.

“He’ll kill me,” she whimpers, her hair mussed and her whole posture now one of defeat.

“Too bad. You should have thought of that before you sold me to him. You’re getting your just desserts. Sign,” I smile coldly and then yank the dagger out, plunging it back in. She bucks and screams.

“I’ll sign,” she whispers, her voice breaking, “please, no more. I’ll sign.”

Heaven knows that she’s going to take a while to heal now that she’s virtually human. I doubted that Alpha Drake was going to be inclined to give her any of his blood and waste it on her.

She’s defeated. Her hand is trembling as she signs her name on the dotted line. I pass the paper to Alpha Drake, who carefully folds it and puts it in his pocket. Now it’s time for one more thing.

My father and brother continue to hold her down. Alpha Drake steps forward, moving close. He breathes into her ear as she shakes, frightened out of her wits.

“Mark her and the pack is yours,” I purred.

He grabs her by the neck. The dagger in her hand prevents her from pulling back. He bites into her hard, ruthlessly, ignoring her cries. He licks the wound clean and continues to hold her by the neck.

“Mark me,” he growled, eyes locking onto hers, ignoring the tears continuing to trickle down her cheeks.

Her eyes fill with fresh tears. Even though she has no wolf, she can mark her mate. It’s almost a reflex. Despite her reluctance, canines grow from her mouth. He pulls her head down, forcing her to bite the nape of his neck. She sobs as she pulls away. The wound closes quickly due to his Alpha status. It’s done. She can’t run. She can’t prevent the inevitable. Legally, they are mates in every sense of the word.
