Chapter 13
I impatiently kicked Salvatore away. “You’re overthinking I’m just worried about you dirtying my car
Salvatore’s eyes widened as if he couldn’t believe what I had just said. He was rooted to the spot in a daze.
I ignored him and asked the driver to drive us away.
Marco sat next to me and patted my back soothingly. “Why don’t I make him disappear since you don’t like him,
His tone was gentle, but a hint of ferocity colored his voice at the mention of Salvatore. It was as if he would truly make Salvatore disappear from the face of the earth as long as I gave the word.
“It’s not the right time yet,” I said.
I wasn’t going to allow Salvatore to disappear that easily. I wanted the Farro brothers to turn against each other. I wanted their family to fall into ruins and lose everything
Marco stared at me for a long time before he tightened his hold on my hand. “Alright, then. I’ll follow your lead. I just want you to promise me that you won’t shoulder everything by yourself.”
“Of course. You’re the person that I’m closest to, Uncle Marco. I’ll never keep anything from you”

I couldn’t shake the feeling that Marco’s eyes dimmed significantly the moment the words left my lips. He opened his mouth, but in the end, he didn’t say anything. Knowing better than to continue poking at him, I also didn’t question him further.
When night fell, my subordinate informed me that there was a man who had stood outside the house for the entire day. He kept staring in the direction of my room in a daze, and he refused to leave no matter how many times they tried to chase him
away.
I walked over to the balcony. When I looked down, I coincidentally made eye contact with Salvatore’s hollow gaze. His eyes brightened with excitement, and he waved at me ecstatically.
I never expected him to be so stubborn. The corners of my lips curled up into a smile as I slowly headed downstairs.
Salvatore’s eyes were shining with joyous disbelief when I told my men to lead him into the house. “Have you forgiven me,
Gina?” he asked.
He grabbed my hand excitedly as he began to bombard me with his future plans.
I didn’t interrupt him and just listened to him quietly. I waited until he was done before I retracted my hand. My wrist had already turned red from how hard he had been clutching it.
“Salvatore,” I called softly, causing him to tense up. “Uncle Marco’s right. You’re nothing but a shadow. How do you plan to make me happy?”
I reached out and caressed his face, letting my voice take on a seductive edge. “I like men like Stefano. I need someone with power, status, and authority to help me take back The Rosas.”
I could feel Salvatore’s body trembling. There was also a hint of hesitance flickering in his eyes. I pushed myself up on my tiptoes and pressed a chaste kiss to his cheek
“In my heart, you’ve never been any lesser than Stefano. So, why can he exist in the light while you have to stay in the shadows?”
Salvatore closed his eyes. A long time passed before he spoke again, sounding as if he had hardened his resolve. “Alright. I’ll give you everything that you want. I love you, Gina. You’ll understand that I mean everything that I say in the future.”
