Chapter 17
When I turned around, I saw Antonia standing behind me.
She was wearing a white dress, and her makeup was exquisite. She looked like she was waiting for someone.
I almost forgot that I had leaked Marco’s whereabouts to her, so she was probably here to do a stakeout until he appeared. My spirits immediately lifted when I thought about how I had just gotten three million dollars from her.
I smiled as I greeted her. “Long time no see.”
Antonia’s face contorted into a hateful expression before she said, “I didn’t think you would come back.”
She approached me and grabbed my wrist harshly. “You must be feeling so smug, Regina,” she hissed into my ear. “You’re the only one in Stefano’s heart now. He doesn’t want me anymore. Dad also didn’t make me the successor.”
My good mood immediately soured at her words. My smile faded away as I calmly took a step back. “I already told you, Antonia. You’ll never have what doesn’t belong to you.”
Grandpa had established The Rosas for Mom from the very start. Dad was only brought in to help run it in her place. The real owners of The Rosas had always been Mom and me.
It was why, as long as I refused to sign the agreement to give up on The Rosas, Dad would also never announce Antonia as the successor. He didn’t have the guts to take such a risk.
Although Dad had been the leader for so many years, deep down, he was still the insecure and cowardly loser who could only rely on Grandpa. However, his pride stopped him from telling his beloved first love and their daughter the truth about the entire situation.
Antonia’s voice turned shrill as she shrieked, “What doesn’t belong to me? Why doesn’t The Rosas belong to me? I’m also Dad’s daughter. I was also the one who Stefano fell in love with first. He only toyed with you for my sake.
“But at the end of the day, he actually developed genuine feelings for you and fell for you! Why didn’t you leave with that goddamned mother of yours? You could have returned to the Scapuzzis, but you chose to stay with The Rosas to fight me for Dad’s attention!”
I couldn’t help but feel how ridiculous Antonia’s words were, but I had no intention of telling her the truth at that moment. After all, it would be much more meaningful for my beloved Dad to personally tell her how he became the leader of The
Rosas in the first place.

The corners of my lips curled into a smile. “It’s pointless to take out your frustrations on me,” I reminded her flatly.’ Instead, you should go home and ask Dad about this. You should ask him why he needs me to sign that agreement before he can name you as the new successor.”
Unfortunately, Antonia seemed to interpret my smile as a form of provocation. She reached into her bag as she screamed
before pouncing on me.
Shocked, I reflexively used the fighting skills I had learned to knock her aside.
Antonia fell to the ground, staining her white dress with dirt and grime. However, when she looked up at me, she was smiling.
“You can never beat me, Regina,” she whispered, looking utterly smug.
I couldn’t help but feel that she was acting bizarrely. Did she hit her head when she fell just now? Why was she so happy about being thrown to the ground?
In the next second, Antonia put on a pitiful appearance as she continued to lie on the ground. Her voice was thick with tears when she said, “I know that you don’t like me, Gina, but we’re still sisters. I just wanted to invite you and Uncle Marco to my engagement banquet. Why did you try to hurt me?”
I frowned, feeling bewildered. The two of us were the only people there, so why was she putting on an act? It wasn’t as if I was going to get tricked by her pitiful appearance.

A few seconds later, a cold and masculine voice sounded from behind me, asking, “What are the two of you doing?”
I turned my head to see Marco. I didn’t know when he had arrived. He was standing in the shadows, so I couldn’t get a good look at his expression, but I could vaguely sense that he wasn’t happy.
“It’s nice to meet you, Uncle Marco,” Antonia said between sobs as she raised the invitation she was holding.
“I’m going to get engaged soon. Gina is my only sister, and you’re the successor of Scapuzzi Group. I just wanted to invite. both of you to witness my happiness. I didn’t expect that Gina would shove me to the ground like this.”
Antonia raised her head, looking troubled and slightly heartbroken. “I know you don’t like me, Gina. I also know that you seduced my ex-fiance. But I’ve already given up on Stef for your sake. I just want to live my own life, so can you stop targeting me?”
Frustration festered in my heart as I watched Antonia resort to her old tricks. She reminded me of how she had used similar tactics three years ago to frame me for pushing her off the bridge. Her actions had resulted in me being ostracized by
everyone.
I could feel my fingers quivering. I stared in Marco’s direction, wanting to see his reaction.
Marco approached us, taking one step at a time. When the light illuminated his face, I could clearly see the repulsed expression on his face.
