“If you can’t act like a member of this family, maybe you don’t deserve your place in it. I’ll have the lawyers begin drafting the papers. Your shares in the company will be transferred to Coty at the next shareholders meeting in three days.”
Her breath caught in her throat. The words sank in like fangs, tearing something open inside her. Her back hit the bed head, and for a moment she stared at nothing, her mind blank with disbelief.
“You can’t do that,” she whispered.
“I can,” he said coldly. “And I will. I built this pack, this empire. You’re not entitled to anything you refuse to respect.”
“So this is it?” Her voice trembled, fury held together by the thinnest thread of control. “Another lie from her, and you’re ready to erase me? You don’t even want to listen to my side of the story?”
“You’ve always been difficult,” he said. “Always questioning, always challenging. It’s exhausting. Coty… she knows how to show loyalty.”
“She knows how to pretend,” Jenna snapped. “She wears obedience like a second skin until no one sees what she’s really doing underneath.”

“You want to keep what’s yours? Fix this, and apologize to Coty. Make it right, Or don’t bother calling me again.” He shot with rage after a little pause.
Click.
He hung up.
The silence that followed was louder than his voice had ever been.
Jenna stared at the darkened phone screen, her reflection ghostlike in the glass. Her heart thundered in her chest, pounding like war drums. She blinked rapidly, refusing to let tears fall. Not for him.
Her wolf stirred beneath her skin, restless, pacing. It hated being caged, hated the injustice burning like acid through Jenna’s veins.
She stood and walked to the window. The woods beyond the estate were dark, thick with shadows and the scent of rain. That was where she belonged. Not behind these glass walls, not under her father’s thumb, not hiding in the Night Villa while Coty took it all.
Tears trickled down her eyes as she remembered her mom. Her mom suffered to build the company with her dad and now they want to take it all from her?
She pressed her forehead to the cool glass and whispered to herself, “I will never let her win.”
Coty had underestimated her. They all had. They saw a daughter too tired to fight, too broken to bite back.
But Jenna wasn’t broken, She was transforming and her revenge was going to be dark.
She dried her tears and went downstairs for dinner, surprisingly Alpha Ryker was sitting already and must have been waiting for her.
“You kept me waiting!” He growled.
“I’m sorry,” she apologized, trying to avoid his gaze. She didn’t want him to find out that she had been crying.
She took her seat and the maids started serving dinner but she noticed his gaze on her.
“For how long have you been crying?” He asked unexpectedly and Jenna coughed almost choking on her food.
“Sorry?”
“You heard me, now speak!”
“I.. was..wasn’t crying,” she stuttered.
“Don’t you dare lie to me, what’s making you cry?” He questioned her.
“I’m perfectly fine,” Jenna said, not wanting him involved in this case.
“You seem to be hiding something from me, and you know I can find out whatever it’s you are hiding,” he growled.
“There’s nothing to hide,” she muttered.
The rest of their dinner was quiet till they were done.
“I would like to ask for your permission to go out in three days,” she said shakily as soon as he stood up to leave.
“What for?” He snapped and his eyes turned cold.

“I have to attend the board meeting of my dad’s company.” She responded hoping for a positive answer from him.
Alpha Ryker paused for a while before nodding in approval and he watched as her face lit up with a smile but he could tell something was wrong with her.
He left her and went into his room and carried his phone to call Chase, he needed to know what was wrong with her.
“Hi Chase,” he called as soon as the other person answered.
“Alpha,” Chase greeted, noticing the coldness in his voice.
“Get me all the information concerning George Spears scheduled board meeting in three days time and why he’s holding it without my knowledge.”

The moonlight spilled like liquid silver across the marble floor as Coty stood in front of the tall mirror in her bedroom. She wore a robe the color of cream, tied delicately at the waist, her skin glowing under the soft vanity lights. The fading bruise on her cheek had been carefully maintained for effect – darkened slightly with makeup, smudged just enough to look real. A little dramatic, but that’s what sold her lies.
She practiced her expressions. Wide, innocent eyes. A soft, wounded smile. A single, practiced tear just to gain pity.
“I didn’t want to tell him… but Jenna left me no choice.”
She tilted her head, studying the angle. It was almost art, the way she could wear fragility like armor. No one suspected the girl who looked like she could break at the touch of wind.
A knock came at her door. Soft. Familiar.
“Come in,” Coty called, voice already slipping into silk.
Her mother stepped inside, closing the door gently behind her. Chloe Spears – second wife of George, stepmother to Jenna, and the quiet force behind Coty’s most dangerous ideas. She was an elegant incarnate, always dressed like she was hosting a gala, even at home. Tonight, a blood-red silk robe clung to her like liquid wine.
She eyed Coty with approval. “You look perfect. Sad, but not all bad. Wounded, but not weak.”
Coty smiled at her reflection. “I know.”
Chloe walked over, brushing her daughter’s shoulder lightly. “He’s ready to sign it over?”
“He’s practically giddy about it,” Coty replied with an evil smile. “He thinks he’s protecting the pack. And you know how he gets when he thinks he’s saving something.”
Chloe’s smile was a thin blade. “Men are easy to manipulate when they believe it’s their idea. You’ve learned well, sweetheart.”
Coty turned from the mirror. “Jenna’s still dangerous. She’s not dumb. And Ryker… he’s watching her closely.”
