Chloe waved a hand. “Alpha Ryker may be dangerous, but he’s still a man. Put enough doubt between him and Jenna, and he’ll look away at the right time.”
“I was informed she cried at dinner tonight,” Coty said with a smirk. “Probably because Daddy threatened to take her shares.”
“Good,” Chloe said smoothly. “Tears are fine- they keep her soft while we strike. She’s too stubborn to ask for help, and that pride will be her undoing.”
They walked together down the long hallway toward George’s study. Chloe’s heels clicked softly on the polished floor, matching the rhythm of Coty’s heartbeat. Everything was unfolding exactly as they had planned.
George was behind his desk when they entered, flipping through the printed agenda for the board meeting. He didn’t look up.
“Sit,” he said, gesturing toward the leather chairs.
Coty sat gracefully, folding her hands in her lap. Chloe moved behind her daughter, a silent presence of support and control.

“I’m nervous about tomorrow,” Coty said, her voice trembling just enough.
George looked up, eyes softening.
“You have nothing to worry about. The paperwork is solid. Once the vote passes, Jenna’s shares will be yours.”
“And Jenna?” Coty asked, blinking slowly. “What if she fights this?”
“She doesn’t have the numbers,” George said dismissively, I call the shots here.”Besides, even if she causes a scene, it won’t matter. Her outburst will only prove why she’s unfit.”
Chloe moved forward, laying a hand on George’s shoulder Like the snake she was. “You’re doing the right thing, darling. The pack needs a future. And Jenna… she’s stuck in the past.”
He nodded. “I know.”
“I just wish it hadn’t come to this,” Coty whispered. “I tried to love her. I really did.”
George leaned back in his chair, letting out a heavy sigh. “She’s never made it easy.”
“And yet,” Chloe added smoothly, “you gave her every chance.”
Coty stood, walking to the glass doors leading out to the balcony. Her fingers curled around her phone as she slipped it from her robe pocket, her expression shifting the moment their backs were turned.
She dialed quickly. The line clicked.
“It’s almost done,” she said into the phone. “By this time tomorrow, I’ll have full voting power. George is handing it to me wrapped in gold.”
A male voice responded. “Good. Alpha Neo wants confirmation by dawn.”
“He’ll get it. Tell him to prepare the contract.” Coty’s tone dropped into something colder. “And make sure his people are ready to move when the time comes.”
“Understood.”
She ended the call and tucked the phone back into her robe. Behind her, Chloe and George chatted quietly about logistics and vote counts, blissfully unaware that Coty’s ambitions stretched far beyond family or company.
She stared out over the estate – over everything that would soon be hers.
Let Jenna cry. Let her rage. Let her bring Alpha Ryker or the whole damn council if she wanted.
It wouldn’t matter.
By the time they figured it out, she would already be sitting on the throne.

Not just crashing but taking it over for her
The journey back to the Night Villa was quiet, but Chase’s mind was a storm of thoughts.
—
The file in the passenger seat beside him burned like a live wire too hot, too dangerous to ignore. He’d seen a lot working under his best friend Alpha Ryker, but what he just learned about George Spears’ “shareholder meeting” left a foul taste in his mouth.
This wasn’t just about business.
It was a coup. A quiet one. Padded in legal fluff and family betrayal.
And Jenna was at the heart of it.
By the time he reached the villa, night had settled thickly over the woods. The front gates opened automatically, the guards giving him a nod of recognition as he pulled into the paved driveway.
The moment he stepped out of the car, Mrs Anderson was already waiting.
“He’s in his office,” the old lady said. “And he’s not in the mood for stalling.”
“Neither am I,” Chase replied, grabbing the file and moving toward the entrance.
Inside, the villa was quiet. Too quiet. The air felt charged as if even the walls were waiting to hear what he was about to say. Chase made his way down the long hallway to the Alpha’s study on the fourth floor which was restricted to so many people, where the scent of smoldering firewood and old leather lingered thick.
He knocked once.
“Come in.”
Alpha Ryker stood by the floor-to-ceiling windows, his back to the door, arms folded across his chest. His silver- flecked black hair looked darker in the low light, his stance rigid as stone. He didn’t turn as Chase stepped in.
“Well?” Ryker asked, voice calm, but edged like a blade.
“I went through the company archives,” Chase said, setting the thick manila folder on the desk. “I hacked into the secure finance logs and cross-checked it with the shareholder registry.
Ryker finally turned, his blue eyes sharp. “And?”
Chase flipped the folder open. “George Spears moved Jenna’s shares into a trust account after her mother died. Legally, it still belongs to her – but with the right manipulation, those shares can be ‘voted’ on her behalf. Coty’s name is being slid into that loophole.”
“Illegally?” Ryker asked.
“Legally enough that no one would question it unless they looked deeper. The documents make it seem like Jenna agreed to it. There’s even a signature.”
Ryker’s brows furrowed. “She didn’t sign anything.”
“Exactly. Which means someone forged it -and they were confident she wouldn’t find out in time to stop it. The meeting in three days? It’s not just a board vote. It’s a formal transfer of power. If Coty secures Jenna’s shares, she’ll control forty percent of the Spears Corporation. That’s enough to override most of George’s decisions, even challenge Jenna’s place in the family line.”
Ryker’s jaw clenched his thoughts a wild snarl of instincts and strategy.

“They’re cutting her out,” he muttered. “Right under her nose.”
“And not just from the company,” Chase added. “There’s more.”
He reached into the folder and pulled out a second page — a
a printed email thread. “This is from a burner account, but I traced the IP. It links back to Coty’s private server. She’s been in contact with Alpha Neo of the Riverstone Pack.”
Ryker’s eyes narrowed. “What the hell does Neo have to do with this?”
“Neo has been trying to expand his influence for years. His pack is strong but politically weak. If Coty promises him business shares an alliance in return for support… she’d have the backing of a secondary Alpha. It’s enough to force a power shift – one George might not even fully understand he’s enabling and his company has already started going bankrupt.”
“She’s playing every side,” Ryker growled.
“She’s not stupid,” Chase replied. “She’s ambitious. And she knows Jenna’s position is vulnerable — emotionally and politically.”
Ryker turned away again, his fingers flexing. His wolf was close to the surface, barely leashed.
“She came to dinner tonight looking like she hadn’t slept in days,” Ryker said quietly. “Tried to smile, barely touched her food. Lied when I asked if she was crying.”
“She’s trying to protect herself,” Chase said. “Probably doesn’t want to seem weak.”
Ryker closed his eyes, fury pulsing in every muscle of his body.
“I told her once she could come to me,” he said. “I told her I’d protect her.”
“She doesn’t believe anyone will,” Chase said softly.
That hit Ryker harder than he expected. His wolf snarled inside him, demanding action.
“What do you want to do?” Chase asked.
Ryker opened his once blue eyes – turned dark, glowing now with restrained rage.
