Chapter 26
We stayed on the hill until dark, and I got to watch the sunset. I even took some pictures and got new ideas for my summer collection this fall.
“We are going on a trip,” he says out of the blue, and I look at him weirdly.
“What? Where?” I ask.
“I want to see that smile on your face every day. It looks amazing on you. I haven’t seen that in years. Since you left, I only tried to get that picture of your smile through Crystal e, but I was wrong. You may look similar, but you have different personalities,” he shrugs, and I nod.
For once, he isn’t threatening to kill me at the mention of my sister’s name. But that doesn’t mean I have let my guard down. I don’t trust his sudden change in behavior.
“Yeah, my dad used to say that a lot. So where are you planning on going?” I ask.
“Switzerland. My parents used to take me there when I was little. It was their little getaway. It was there that my parents fell in love, and there they conceived me,” he says, and I nod.
I really want to ask if he ever took my sister there, but I keep myself from saying it. He is acting nice enough, and I don’t want to ruin it.
The next morning, we were on our way to the airport.
I text Marcus, tell him everything, and promise to call him as soon as I land.
The flight was an eight-hour trip, and surprisingly, it was comfortable. Zander booked us first-class tickets.
I don’t realize when I fell asleep, but I woke up in bed-a comfortable one at that.
Zander isn’t around, but I find a note on the side table.
Hey,
I am going to get some groceries and other supplies. Please take a shower and have dinner with me.
Yeah, I am asking you on a date. I want you to look amazing and feel comfortable. I want us to get to know each
other.
P.S. You look amazing when sleeping.
Zander
I smile. He wants us to go on a date.
I sigh. Oh, Moon Goddess, help me know what to do. I am confused right now. These past three days have been

amazing-he has been amazing-but I can’t forget what he did, what he has done.
And I might be pregnant with his child, so give me the strength not to regret this decision.
I take a warm shower and get dressed.
A simple baby blue long-sleeved dress with wedge heels. I hold my hair back and pin it beautifully. I add a cute necklace to match, and I am ready to go.
I walk outside the room to find him already standing in the hall, looking amazing in his shirt and dress pants.
He looks so tall and ripped. It reminds me of the first day I saw him and fell for him.
The way he carried himself, how neat he was, made me love him even more when I was young.
“Shall we go?” he asks, and I nod.
“You look absolutely breathtaking, by the way,” he says and kisses my cheek.
I take his hand, and he leads me outside.
“So, Serene, tell me about yourself,” he says.
We are now at a small diner in the city. It is quiet, and not many people are around.
“There isn’t anything interesting about me, obviously. My sister was more interesting than me. That’s why she was always preferred over me,” I say, sipping my wine and gauging his expression.
His jaw twitches a little, but he sighs and shakes his head.
“Surely there’s something about you that you always keep hidden. So, tell me,” he says.
“Okay, I used to be a big fan of Harry Styles. Well, I still am. I used to love soccer but don’t enjoy it anymor
I am living my dream of being a designer,” I tell him.
“Wow, I never knew you loved soccer. I thought Crystal was the one who liked it because I used to see her going to practice,” he says, and I look at him as if he has grown two heads.
“No. You must have mistaken me for her. Crystal hates soccer. She was a cheerleader,” I say, and he looks at me thoughtfully.
“Okay, I get it now. My turn…” he was about to say, but I stopped him.
“No need. I already know enough about you,” I say and unexpectedly blush.
“Wow… what… how?” he asks, surprised.
“I used to love you, Zander. I was head over heels for you since the moment I saw you on the field, running with Beta Darius. I was so in love with you that I used to stalk you sometimes. And even then, when the rogue tried to attack, I was willing to give up my life to save you. Luckily, my dad saved us that day. I was so hurt and cried the entire day when I found you unconscious on the field. Even when I was being raped by him, I still loved you. So yeah, I was obsessed with you,” I tell him.
