Chapter 28
The Next Morning
I wake up with my head resting on a hard surface.
I groan. Why is my pillow so hard?
I mumble something incoherent when I feel a hand tracing up and down my spine.
A deep chuckle sounds above me, and I stiffen slightly.
Suddenly, memories of what happened yesterday into this morning flooded my mind.
Fuck! We didn’t stop until this morning. 1
I smile against his skin and raise my head to get a glimpse of his face.
He’s smiling down at me softly. I take in his appearance-his hair is messy, his eyes still look tired, but there’s an unmistakable glint of lust in them.
“Good morning,” I whisper as he pulls me closer.
“More like afternoon,” he whispers back before kissing me softly, yet roughly.
I moan into the kiss. He always finds a way to turn me into a mess with just his lips. I’m such a sucker for his
kisses.
“Fuck! If you weren’t sore and tired, I would’ve fucked you again,” he whispers against my lips, and I almost give in to the idea.
But I am sore-all over, especially between my thighs.
“Come on, let me get you a nice warm bath so we can explore the village,” he says before pulling the covers and standing up, revealing his semi-hard, thick cock.
I can’t help but ogle at him. His muscles flex as he stretches, his back and torso contracting.
He has so much confidence in his body-something I’ve been dying to have.
He walks into the bathroom and returns moments later, still naked. He strides toward me, lifting me bridal- style, making me yelp and giggle.
Wow. This is so new… coming from me.
He settles me into the bathtub filled with warm water and vanilla-scented candles.
Then, he gets in behind me, positioning me between his hard thighs.
He starts massaging my body, and I sigh in contentment, resting my head against his shoulder.
He kisses my shoulder and continues to pamper me.

Later That Day
After our bath-two hours later-we get dressed and have breakfast, well… lunch, at a small restaurant in the village.
We explore the area, taking pictures in the woods and on the rocky mountains. We even go swimming in the river, where we end up having rounds and rounds of sex before watching the sunset together.
I wish we could stay here forever.
But sadly, all good things must come to an end. Tomorrow, we’re going back home to face reality.
Alpha Kins’ message still lingers in my mind. I can’t stop thinking about what my sister might have done to him.
This is the life I always envisioned for myself when I was just a little pup.
Before falling asleep tonight, Zander and I make love-slow, passionate lovemaking. He kisses my flat tummy, whispering something to it.
I still don’t think I’m pregnant yet.
We arrive back at the pack later in the day, where most people are still at work.
Except for that snoozy Beta.
He’s sitting at the wine area when we enter. A memory rushes back, and I stiffen.
“Da… Dari…” I mutter shakily.
“No, no… hey, look at me. That isn’t him. That’s Zack,” Zander whispers, kissing all over my face.
“Leave, Zack. Now!” he growls in his Alpha tone, making me shiver.
“Yes, Alpha,” Zack says, and I hear his footsteps fade before I manage to calm down.
Zander takes me upstairs to his room, not mine.
“I asked for your things to be moved here,” he says. I nod, still staring at the door.
“Sorry, baby, but I need to leave. The warriors captured a rogue at the pack’s border, and I need to be there,” he
says.
“Okay. Be careful,” I say sincerely. He kisses me on the lips before leaving.
I sigh and step inside the room. The scent of mint and wood mixed with banana and salt water fills my nostrils, and it takes everything in me not to leave.
My sister’s scent still lingers here.
I can almost feel her presence.
I walk through the room and stop when I find their wedding pictures on the side table.

Sometimes, I forget how much we look alike.
I trace my fingers over her picture. I have to admit-she did look amazing.
I still love her despite everything, but I can’t forgive her for hurting me.
I walk over to the trash can and drop the picture inside.
This place is now my territory. And Zander is now mine.
I smile at the thought, giggling and twirling around the room.
After taking a quick shower, I decided to take a nap.
But I woke up with a sudden urge to vomit.
I immediately rushed into the bathroom, retching into the toilet.
An hour passes, and I’m still vomiting.
I mind-link my mom, telling her everything.
By the time I step out of the bathroom, she’s already here, waiting for me.
I immediately run into her arms, and she hugs me tightly.
“Oh, congratulations, darling. I knew this day would come,” she whispers, kissing my forehead.
“I’m not ready, Mama. I’m so scared,” I tell her, my voice trembling.
“It’s normal to feel that way. But once the baby is here, you’ll love them more than anything. The joy will overpower the fear,” she reassured me.
I nod.
“Does the Alpha know yet?” she asks.
I nod again.
“Good. Look, I know what he did was wrong, but he’s trying to make amends. Please, give him a chance,” she
says.
I scoff. “What about Kayden? Even after I told everyone the truth, he still sees me as the villain. He still sees Crystal as the angel. That is something I can’t forgive, Mama. So, they can both rot in hell for all I care.”
I take a deep breath before continuing.
“I have you, Mama. I have Marcus, Zander, Tasha, and Faye. I’m content,” I tell her firmly.
She sighs. “Oh, my darling, you need to soften your heart.”
Never, Mama.
Never.
