Flashback

“I can’t run away with Kins. I’m already getting married to Alpha Zander. The wedding is happening after my birthday party,” she tells him.

“But I love you. I am your mate. Don’t you love me?” he asks brokenly.

“I love you, Matt. I love you so much, but I can’t because I also love Zander just as much as I love you,” she cries.

“You can’t say that to me. Can’t you see you’re hurting me-hurting us?” he sobs.

“You wouldn’t understand what I’m feeling right now,” she says.

“Then make me understand, Crys. Make it make sense to me because I’m not giving up on you,” he begs.

“Please, just bear with me, okay? Can you do something for me-make my wish come true?” she asks, and Matt nods. At this moment, he’s willing to do anything just to be with her.

“Anything, mi amore. Anything,” he whispers against her lips.

“Take my virginity. I want to feel everything a woman feels with her true mate. Please, don’t deny me this wish, ” she pleads, and Kins immediately crashes his lips against hers.

After two hours of lovemaking, Crystal gets dressed and prepares to leave.

“Are you leaving already?” he asks in a small voice.

“Yeah, my sister just texted me about the party details, and I need to be there before she messes things up,” she

says.

Kins sits up straight and kisses her bare shoulder. “You never told me about your sister,” he smiles.

“She’s my older sister-a less cool version of me. But we look so much alike that if you’re not careful, you co get confused,” she says and stands up. Alpha Kins also gets dressed, and they both walk out of the woods.

“When can I see you again?” he asks hopefully.

“Soon,” was her only reply before walking away.

But “soon” turned into years apart. Years passed without a word from the love of his life. Their time together became a distant memory.

He tried to move on with his Luna. They explored other options and eventually decided on adoption, believing that was the best choice for them.

A week before they finalized the adoption papers, he received an anonymous letter asking him to meet someone in the backyard of the pack house.

Skeptical, he read the letter over and over before finally heading to the backyard, waiting for whoever had sent it. Then, he saw someone walking toward him, cloaked in red.

He immediately growled, but the voice he heard next made him lose his guard completely.

“Matt,” Crystal whispered.

“Crystal,” he breathed, and before he could comprehend anything, his legs carried him toward her, and he engulfed her in a tight hug.

“Baby… I missed you so much. Why didn’t you come for so long? I was waiting for you,” he whispered.

“I missed you too-so much-but it wasn’t my fault. I needed to take care of things back home. My sister… she ran away, and I… I had a baby and he died,” she said, her voice breaking.

“A baby? Is it… is it mine?” he asked, hope flashing in his eyes.

She shook her head.

“Fuck,” he chuckled bitterly and took a step back, but she held onto him.

She pleaded with him to forgive her, and because of his soft spot for her, he fell back into the toxic pattern. That night, they made love under the moonlight, and she left before sunrise.

The affair didn’t end there. They continued meeting in secret, even after Alpha Kins’ Luna passed away.

Months passed, and Crystal found herself pregnant with Matt’s child. She was devastated, unsure how to hide the pregnancy from her husband.

Using the excuse of searching for her missing sister, she left the pack for nearly a year.

She lived with Alpha Kins in his pack, and there, she gave birth to their children-Dera and Collins. 1

But she didn’t stay long. She had to leave. Zander was growing suspicious, and she couldn’t ignore his calls

forever.

Another year passed. Crystal saw less and less of her family. Her husband was still obsessed with his missin sister. She wasn’t getting the attention she needed. Matt was too busy raising their children. She needed someone to comfort her-so she turned to the Vampire king’s brother.

Their affair lasted for months. And it resulted in a pregnancy. She had to go back to Zander, which she did. Zander being the good husband, never thought his wife would betray him and since the bond wasn’t strong he didn’t suspect anything.

Months goes by and she gives birth to her baby, her daughter an abomination. A vampire. She and Zander decided to keep the baby away from the public eye.

During this time, she wrote letters to Matt, telling him about the affair and how she wanted to run away with Fargo, the vampire prince and their daughter.

She also has help,Beta Darius but unfortunately he died a mysterious death.

The letters continued for three years-until they stopped.

Three months later, he heard the news of her death.

Although he was heartbroken, he had found a new mate-one he adored and loved. He shed a few tears for his children, but that was all.
