This boy… what am I going to do with him?

“I think he’s right,” my sister inserts, and I glare at her.

I look at Zander, and he really looks bad-like a drug addict.

“Can… can we talk?” he stutters, and I nod.

“Hey, Mrs. Gunn, can you help rearrange the baby’s dresses again?” Marcus says,

“oh yeah,I have gift Liana sent,we need to hang it for the baby” Crystal giggles and Marcus kisses her lips and takes her hands into his and they walk upstairs with mama on their tail shaking her head.

It still feels surreal and awkward a times.

Zander is really acquired with everything and still holds a grudge against her.

“So, what do you want to talk about, Zander?” I say, taking a seat.

“I… I just wanted to apologize for everything I did to you. For rejecting you, for hurting you, for hitting you, and for insulting you. P-please forgive me. I want to be part of the baby’s life. I… I want to be part of your-your life, “he stutters, seeming nervous.

“Saying you are sorry isn’t going to erase the pain and nightmares, Zander. The day you rejected me, you killed a part of me. But last month, you killed me. I feel nothing. I am numb to everything except for the love I have for my baby,” I tell him.

“But I love you. I want to be with you. I can’t live without you, baby. Please don’t leave me,” he pleads.

“You don’t love me, Zander. You only do now because you found out my sister betrayed you. I don’t want to be second best to you or anyone. We can’t be together, but I won’t stop you from being in your baby’s life. You and I… we are done. I have the council annulling our marriage. Please don’t fight this. I just want to rest,” I tell him

But he immediately hugs me tightly, surprising me.

I don’t know what he is saying, but he keeps whispering those words until he falls asleep.

As days goes by

Zander begins to accept the reality of us not being together, but he has become super protective of me. He follows me everywhere I go and stays by my side at the slightest wince.

I am a week overdue, and this baby has been kicking me non-stop.

Mom, Marcus, Crystal and Liana are out shopping for last-minute baby stuff, and I am sitting in the living room watching the season finale of Game of Thrones when I feel a sharp pain in my abdomen.

Liana wanted to buy sometimes for school because she’ll be going back soon.

This is even worse than yesterday’s contractions.

Zander immediately rushes in from the kitchen and is by my side. Damn werewolf hearing.

“Are you okay? Should I take you to the hospital?” he asks, inspecting me.

“I am fine, just normal contractions,” I say, but then the pain comes again, and it’s worse than before.

“Fuck!” I grit out.

“Baby…,” he says helplessly.

“Help me up,” I grit out, and he does, but immediately, something wet splashes on the floor beneath us.

My eyes widen.

“Call my mom, Zander, and tell her the baby is coming. Tell her to fucking hurry up!” I yell.

The pain increases with every second.

Zander is about to move when I slap his hand.

“Help me upstairs, you buffoon!” I yell. Oh goddess, what is this?!

I can’t give birth in a normal hospital, and we don’t know the nearest pack hospital, so I am having a home birth, with my mom delivering the baby.

Zander helps me upstairs and then rushes to call my mom while I change into something comfortable.

He returns immediately.

“She says she’s on her way. What should I do?” he asks frantically.

“Set the place up before she arrives,” I tell him.

After minutes of running around, everything is ready. Now, we are just waiting for Mama.

“Come, hold my hand. Oh, this hurts so fucking bad!” I cry.

Zander immediately holds my hand, and I squeeze it hard.

After five minutes and Mama still isn’t here, I feel the urge to push.

“Zander… I think… I think the baby is coming, and you have to deliver him,” I say, and his eyes widen.
