Emily was back at work. She knocked and entered, holding a stack of documents. “Ms. Roth, Ms. Young, here are the files for Grandview Estate. If everything looks good, I’ll file them so they’re ready for the launch day.” May got up to help out with the heavy stack. “Emily, these are heavy. Next time, ask someone to give you a hand.”

Emily flashed her a sweet smile. “Thanks. I will.”

Sophia was still buried in paperwork at her desk, so May gave Emily a meaningful glance.

Emily caught the hint and nodded back. “Sophia, it’s getting late. Why don’t we go grab some food first and continue later?”

Sophia glanced up at her laptop, noticing it was almost eight in the evening. “Alright, thank you for all your hard work these past few days. Let’s bring in everyone still working late and have dinner together.” Emily nodded and walked out of the office.

May walked over to Sophia and gave her a concerned look. “Hey, you’re not bothered by that whole mess online, are you?”

Sophia lowered her head and said nothing.

After finding out that Easton had saved Sophia that day, May had suspected that they might have had an affair, especially since Sophia had been drugged, yet they never went to the hospital to visit her.

Sophia hadn’t shared a word, but as her close friend, May could see right through it.

Sophia slung her bag over her shoulder and looped her arm around May’s. “It’s all over. Let’s not talk about it anymore. Come on, Emily is waiting.”

Seeing Sophia looking so unfazed, May felt a little more at ease.

As Sophia walked out of the Crestview Group with her team from the Project Department, she noticed a sleek black Bentley parked by the curb, with a familiar-looking handsome man leaning against the door.

May leaned in and whispered, “Sophia, isn’t that Frank?”

Sophia had already noticed him the moment she stepped outside.

As he noticed someone coming out of the Crestview Group, Frank raised his gaze, a soft smile playing on his lips. He stepped closer and said, “Sophia, I’ve been waiting for you here for a long time.”

Everyone except for May and Emily stood behind Sophia, eyes brimming with gossip.

May quickly spoke up to ease the tension. “Mr. Hayes, good evening. We just finished work and are heading to dinner. Are you-”

“I haven’t had dinner yet either. Let’s go eat together. My treat,” Frank said before May could finish, his eyes fixed on Sophia.

May had intended for him to approach Sophia at another time, but Frank’s boldness surprised her. Sophia smiled and said, “Thanks, Frank. Since you’re here, let’s just grab some food together.”

“Great,” Frank said, looking like he had been waiting for this chance all night.

May and Emily ushered the rest of the team ahead, giving Sophia and Frank a little space.

Frank walked casually next to Sophia with his hands in his pockets. “I just got back from a work trip and heard about everything that happened. I’m really sorry I wasn’t there when you got into trouble.”

Sophia smiled faintly. “Thanks for caring, Frank. It’s all over now, and those at fault have faced the

consequences.”

Frank nodded. Then he said, “Grandview Estate is opening in a few days. If you have time, I’d like your help picking a house.”

“Is it for investment?” Sophia teased.

Frank chuckled. “Nah, I need a home for myself. I’ve been looking for a place since returning. Grandview Estate fits my needs perfectly in both location and environment. Is there any chance for a discount, Ms. Roth?”
