Sophia knew the operations team wouldn’t call her directly unless it was something serious. After learning what had happened, she frowned and replied, “Alright, I understand. I’ll have my secretary book a flight for tonight. We’ll make all the decisions once I’m back.”

“Sure,” the director replied.

After hanging up, Sophia immediately told Emily to book her a flight to Japoria for tonight.

Julian happened to walk by with some documents in hand. He asked, “What happened?”

Sophia was busy finishing up her work and didn’t even look up. She said, “There’s a problem with a new project at Rothea Designs. I have to head back tonight. I’ll probably be gone for a week or two.”

Julian replied, “Then I’ll come by after work and hang out with Lucas. Once he’s asleep, I’ll head home.”

Sophia looked up with a smile and said, “Sorry to trouble you, Julian. I’ll talk to May too-maybe you both can just take turns?”

“The final round of the southern development project bid is set. Is everything on your end okay? Think you’ll be able to make it?” Julian asked.

Sophia nodded and said, “Even though I’ll be in Japoria, I’ll still set aside some time-I can stay in touch with the project team via video meetings, and with Emily handling things on-site, everything will be fine. Don’t worry.”

Julian knew Sophia was always meticulous in her work, so he felt reassured about her arrangements.

Minnie said, “Ever since Weston Group ran into trouble, Easton hasn’t lifted a finger to help. Word around Foster Group is that Irene personally called and told him not to get involved, which is why he suddenly left the country.”

Stella listened, clutching her pen tightly. She said, “Rumors aren’t always true.”

“But where there’s smoke, there’s fire,” Minnie replied.
