151 Chapter 151
151.Chapter 151
With her purse slung over her arm, she headed for the elevator, only to find the entrance crowded with furniture. The movers gave her a polite apology.
“Sophia, are you home now?” Julian’s voice came through her headset.
“Yeah, I just got here. About to hop in the elevator,” Sophia replied.
“Alright then, get some rest. I’ll email you the rest of the details before I head out tomorrow,” Julian said.
“Alright, Julian,” Sophia replied.
Sophia hadn’t breathed a word to Julian about what went down that afternoon. She didn’t want to make him worry, and besides, since it was Easton’s family drama, it wasn’t her place to get involved.
When Sophia got back to her floor, she realized all that furniture piled up was actually for her neighbor’s place.
Grandview Estate came fully furnished, so most residents just moved in with their luggage. Only a few ever bothered to buy new furniture.
She saw that the furniture in the elevator was all custom-made and looked seriously pricey, so her curiosity got the better of her and she walked over to check it out.
Other than her own apartment, the remaining three units on this floor had all been bought by the same person. He’d remodeled the whole thing, knocking down the walls to create one huge open-plan flat.
Sophia was stunned for a moment. When she looked over, she realized the view from that balcony was even more breathtaking than the one from her own place.
The overall decor hadn’t changed much; just the furniture had been swapped out for pieces that matched the new owner’s style. Sophia had to admit, this owner had serious taste.
The new furniture blended seamlessly with the vibe she’d created, and honestly, the whole place looked even more put together than before.
‘This owner must be a fellow designer. If I ever get the chance to meet them, we’d definitely have plenty to chat about, Sophia thought.
Not wanting to bother the workers inside, Sophia watched for a moment before heading back to her own place.
Lucas should be asleep by now. Sophia quietly opened his bedroom door and, bathed in the soft glow of the nightlight, gazed at her little boy sleeping soundly. Her heart was overcome with tenderness.
As she gently stroked Lucas’s cheek, she found herself thinking of Stella’s son.
Sophia couldn’t shake the guilt she felt for Lucas.
The next morning, Sophia was up bright and early. With a mountain of work to tackle and Julian out of town, she headed out early to get a head start.
Sure enough, her desk was piled high with documents. Sophia glanced at the mess and couldn’t help but shake her head with a soft chuckle. “Who knew my cousin would pick love over his business for once?”
While Sophia was reviewing the documents, Emily knocked and stepped inside.
“Ms. Roth, Gordon from Foster Group just called. He said we need to go to the Southern Development Zone at three this afternoon to inspect the surroundings and present the new plan,” Emily said.
“Got it,” Sophia replied with a nod.
At three in the afternoon, Sophia and Emily arrived right on time at the Southern Development Zone project site. Easton’s car was already parked at the entrance.
Ever since Sophia agreed to work with Foster Group, she knew she’d be seeing a lot more of Easton. So she’d made up her mind; from now on, it was strictly business between them. No personal talk, no exceptions.
Easton got out of his car and walked over to Sophia, his eyes gentle. “It’s pretty sunny out here. Let’s head

inside.”
Sophia nodded.
Easton could sense that Sophia’s attitude toward him had shifted, but he just couldn’t put his finger on what exactly had changed.
