Annie noticed Sophia was a bit lost in thought and asked gently, ‘Sophia, am I distracting you from your work? Sophia looked at Annie, her eyes lighting up with a smile. ‘Of course not. Having you here to chat while I work makes everything so much more fun.”

Annie smiled softly.

Julian popped in after knocking on the door.

“All done with work? Let’s head out for dinner, my treat, Julian said.

Annie went over and hooked her arm through Julian’s. “All finished?”

Julian nodded. “All done.”

Sophia, caught off guard by their lovey-dovey display, pouted. “You two are so mean. You know I’m starving and all I get is a mouthful of your lovey-dovey show.”

Annie burst out laughing, let go of Julian’s hand, walked over to Sophia’s desk, and pulled her to her feet.” Come on, let’s really milk Julian for all he’s worth tonight.

“He’s treating us to a fancy dinner, then taking us shopping, and he’s picking up the tab for everything.” Sophia’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “You got it.’

Julian couldn’t help but chuckle, watching the two of them with a helplessly indulgent smile.

The three of them arrived at the Foster Group’s hotel. As soon as they stepped into the lobby, they bumped into Easton and Gordon coming out of the private elevator.

“Easton, what a coincidence.” Annie spotted Easton and walked over to say hi.

Easton’s gaze fixed on Sophia, barely glancing at Julian behind Annie.

Julian noticed and stepped forward, slipping his arm around Annie’s waist.

Easton nodded. “Just wrapped up a meeting upstairs and was about to head out.”

Julian asked politely, “If you don’t have any plans tonight, why not join us for dinner?”

Easton gave Julian a long, searching look, instantly catching on to what he was getting at.

He nodded, his tone calm. “Sure, I’ll have Gordon take care of it.’

Sophia sighed, thinking to herself, ‘Guess I have no choice. So she just followed them into the hotel’s private

room.

It had been a week since Easton and Sophia had that falling out at the Southern Development Zone, and he hadn’t seen her since.

Just being able to have dinner with her tonight was enough to put him in a great mood.

They didn’t exchange many words, but at least it wasn’t as tense as before.

Sophia really stuck to her promise; except for work, she kept her distance from him.

She’d even go out of her way to avoid him when visiting Irene.

When they ran into each other tonight, Sophia just treated it like another business dinner, everyone was all

about work.

Easton was thoughtful enough to have Gordon order all of Sophia’s favorite dishes. Annie might not have picked up on it, but Julian saw right through it.

“My clueless little cousin probably has no idea she’s actually worth 1.5 billion, maybe even more, Julian thought to himself.

Annie sat quietly beside them, listening to their business talk without interrupting. She just kept quietly piling food onto Julian’s plate.

Sophia couldn’t help but feel happy for Julian; having a wife like Annie, he was seriously lucky.

‘Julian’s got it all, love, career, everything. Compared to me, he’s living on cloud nine, Sophia thought to herself.

Annie was scrolling through her phone, and Sophia peeked at her screen, curious.

“Isn’t that the announcement for the PALIA Auctions?” Sophia asked.

Annie nodded. “Yeah, you probably got their invite too, right?”

“Yes, they sent it a few days ago. I checked out the items, but honestly, there was nothing I liked, so I just passed,” Sophia replied.

Annie looked puzzled. “They just updated the auction catalog. I know you’re into vintage bracelets, and there are several new ones you might like.”

Sophia’s eyes lit up. “Really? I’ve been so swamped with work lately, I totally missed that.”

Annie pulled up the images and the two of them browsed together.

“Isn’t that the ruby bracelet from Loria’s royal family, from way back in the last century?

“I heard it’s been missing for decades. Can you believe they actually found it after all these years?” Sophia said, awe in her voice.

Sophia couldn’t take her eyes off the picture on Annie’s phone.
