As Sophia was about to help Benjamin out, Easton waved his hand, and his bodyguards immediately stepped in to block their path.

Sophia turned back, her face clouded with anger. “Easton, what’s that supposed to mean?”

Easton strode up to Sophia. “You still haven’t answered me. Are you close to him?”

Sophia gave a cold laugh. “And who are you to question me?”

Easton was caught off guard. He thought, ‘Right, I’m nobody to her. What gives me the right to question her?’

Sophia ignored him, helping Benjamin out the door just as May pulled up with the car.

Stella stood behind Easton with a smug smile.

She stepped forward, acting all innocent. “Easton, I never thought I’d bump into Benjamin here. And I honestly had no idea he and Sophia were friends.

“They looked pretty close, and Sophia seemed super worried about him. Are they-”

Easton glared at Stella, his voice cold. “If you don’t need anything else, I’ll have Gordon take you home. I’ve got other things to take care of.”

“Easton, I’m really scared Benjamin might come back and hurt me again. Can you stay with me?” Stella pleaded, her voice trembling.

Easton’s face was unreadable. He glanced in the direction Sophia had just left with Benjamin, then turned to Gordon. “You know what to do.”

Gordon nodded. “Yes, Mr. Foster.”

Easton walked straight into the elevator, not even glancing back.

Stella knew the whole mess was finally over. She let a smug little smile slip across her face.

On the way to the hospital, Sophia couldn’t help but ask, her brows furrowed in confusion. “Mr. Locke, you said

that Stella had something to do with your wife’s death. Was it-”

“Yeah, it was her. She was the mistress,” Benjamin said, his voice thick with pain.

May and Sophia were both in shock. May couldn’t help but ask, “That just doesn’t add up.

“Stella was with Easton five years ago, wasn’t she? Weren’t they living in Menolia the whole time? Did she move to Menolia right after you two broke up?”

Benjamin’s arm might have been hurting, but honestly, the pain in his heart was way worse.

He said, “Yeah, maybe she only went to Menolia because she knew Easton was there. Stella was notorious for being wild in Yorkland. She was never short of men around her, even when she was messing with me.”

May agreed. Just a few months ago, she and Sophia had seen Stella getting up close with some random guy in the parking lot.

Benjamin said, “Back then, Stella had this boyfriend she was super close with. When I found out about it, I pulled back just in time and cut her off completely.

“After Sandra’s suicide, I was at a bar and overheard some of Stella’s friends saying her boyfriend died in a car crash around then. Soon after, she moved to Menolia.

“Later, when I was going through Sandra’s things, I found in her diary that Stella had told Sandra she was pregnant with my baby, and that was what pushed Sandra over the edge.”

Benjamin grew more and more agitated. “I never even slept with her. How could she be pregnant? Sandra believed the test results Stella brought her. The test said she was almost a month pregnant already.”

Sophia was stunned. “Wait, are you saying she was already pregnant when she was still in Yorkland?” Benjamin nodded.

She did the math and realized that if Stella really was already pregnant when she went to Menolia, then that baby shouldn’t be Easton’s.
