“I went through hell to break them up, waited all these years. No way I’m letting a kid bring them back together.” Minnie moved in to soothe her. “Who knows, maybe the kid isn’t even Easton’s. Let’s just wait for the results before jumping to conclusions.”

Stella sneered, “If that kid isn’t Easton’s, I’ll expose his real identity straight to Easton. Let him see that Sophia has already married and has a child with another man. That’ll shut the door on them ever getting back together.”

She let out a nasty laugh and continued, “Even if the child isn’t Easton’s, I’m not going to let Sophia have everything. It’s just a child. If something happens to him, so be it. If hurting Sophia is what it takes, I wouldn’t hesitate.”

Minnie could tell Stella’s hatred for Sophia had crossed the line into pure madness. She was honestly starting to worry that sticking with Stella would get her dragged into something really bad.

“Stella, there are tons of ways to deal with Sophia. There’s no need to take things to such extremes. You could get yourself caught up in this mess. It’s just not worth it,” Minnie said.

Stella shot Minnie a frosty look, her tone sharp. “Minnie, what’s gotten into you today? You’re acting so timid and skittish. This isn’t your usual style at all.”

Minnie struggled to find the words. She could help Stella with some dirty work, but there were limits. Even she had lines she refused to cross.

The whole thing with Irene last time still haunted her. If she got mixed up in something like this again and it all blew up, she couldn’t even imagine what would happen.

Even if she didn’t care about herself, she had to think about the Hayes Group. She was already out of favor in the family. If she dragged the Hayes family down with her, she would become a total disgrace. Jackson would be furious with her.

Her life would be over.

Minnie was still grateful to Stella for saving her life in that car crash years ago, but that didn’t mean she would cross every line for her.

She stayed silent for a moment, then tried to reason with her. “Stella, it’s not that I’m timid and skittish. I just think there are better ways than putting yourself on the line like this.”

Stella gave her a questioning look. “So, what’s this better way you’re talking about?”

Seeing Stella hesitate for a moment, Minnie stepped up, leaned in close, and whispered something quietly in her ear.

Stella smirked with a devilish grin. “Let’s see what the results say first, then we’ll decide our next move.”

As soon as the plane arrived, Sophia couldn’t wait to get Lucas out of the airport. The car sent by Rothea Designs was already waiting for them.

Once the three of them were settled in the car, Sophia’s phone suddenly rang. She glanced at the caller ID, her heart skipping a beat as she answered, “Hello? Is everything taken care of?”

The man’s deep, gentle voice came through the phone. “Don’t worry. It’s all handled.”

Sophia asked, curious, “How did you pull that off?”

The man laughed. “Stella’s such a fool. She ended up taking Lucas’s hair right to my buddy’s lab. Made things way easier for me.”

Sophia let out a sigh of relief. “That’s good. I’ve brought Lucas back to Japoria. Where are you?”

The man stood in front of a helicopter, sunglasses on, a smile playing on his lips as he heard Sophia’s words.
