Easton looked genuinely satisfied with the new proposal. Gordon and Emily, sitting nearby, could see from his face that he was in a great mood.

“Easton, this is our overall concept. Please take a look and let me know if there’s anything you’d like us to adjust or improve,” Sophia said.

When Sophia saw Easton again, she felt a wave of nerves. After everything that had happened between them lately-the arguments, the fight, and last night’s incident-there was no way anyone could just pretend it was business as usual. Things felt awkward.

But Easton was the kind of guy who dominated the business world with ease, and he seemed to have a knack for reading people. During this temporary meeting, he didn’t put any pressure on her at all.

On the contrary, he showed genuine respect for their discussion. He went through every highlighted point with care, and whenever something wasn’t clear, he simply asked about it. It was nothing like his usual bossy, hard- to-please attitude.

‘Had he really changed?’ Sophia wondered.

“I’m very pleased with the proposal. There’s nothing I’d ask you to change. If Crestview Group can maintain this level of professionalism, the project should run much more smoothly, and I won’t need to come down in person. Don’t you agree, Sophia?” Easton said, smiling slightly.

Sophia brushed off all those thoughts she had just had. ‘So I missed one meeting, big deal. It’s not like Crestview Group ever dropped the ball on anything after that, she thought.

When Easton stood up, Sophia and the others followed suit.

He strolled over to Sophia, looking completely at ease. “Don’t you have anything to ask me?”

Easton’s sudden question caught Sophia off guard. For a moment, she found herself wondering if there was something she was supposed to ask him.

But nothing came to mind. And with Gordon and Emily right there, she instantly felt awkward.

Seeing her stay silent, Easton smirked, a hint of smugness in his eyes. “Guess I’ll get going then. You can ask me when I get back. Just so you know, the door code is your birthday.”

As soon as Sophia heard that, it all clicked.
