Whether it was for family or business, he had to show up and have their backs.

Even though it was called a business summit, it was basically just a big party. As soon as Easton walked in, all the big shots from Harlinton’s top companies came over to greet him.

Everyone wanted to get in good with the famous Easton from Jenston.

When Julian walked in with Annie, he couldn’t help but think it was hilarious seeing Easton swarmed like fans around a superstar.

Julian walked up, shook Easton’s hand, and said, “It’s been ages, Easton.”

‘Julian’s obviously here to bail me out,’ Easton thought. After shaking his hand, he turned to the crowd with a polite smile and said, “Sorry, guys, Julian and I have some business to talk over. Catch you later.”

Easton followed Julian and Annie up to the VIP room on the second floor.

“Easton, I honestly didn’t expect you to show up today. I was just telling Julian about you,” Annie said with a smile.

Easton took a sip of his drink and asked, “Oh? What were you saying?”

Julian poured Annie a glass of juice and sat down and said, “We were talking about how you snagged that prime land in the new Harlinton district last month.”

Easton raised an eyebrow and gave Julian a small smile. He asked, “Word got out that fast?”

Julian nodded and said, “There wasn’t any official confirmation yet, but now that you’re here, it pretty much confirms everyone’s suspicions.”

Easton set his glass down and said, “We started planning this deal with the Hughes family two years back, but just couldn’t find the right spot.

“When I dropped by your engagement party, I overheard some inside scoop from the city officials in Harlinton, so I dropped a hint to Uncle Andrew, and man, he jumped on it way quicker than I thought,” said Easton.

Julian was seriously impressed by Easton’s business sense. No wonder Foster Group shot up to the top in

Jenston so fast.

Even here in Harlinton, word on the street was that in less than five years, Foster Group would be sitting pretty

in the world’s top ten.

The summit was a marathon, and the host company had booked out the whole hotel so guests could kick back whenever they wanted.

After all the schmoozing in the morning and afternoon, Easton was feeling pretty wiped. He told Gordon to give him a heads-up before the dinner started.

He shrugged off his suit jacket and sprawled out on the couch, just wanting to crash for a bit and shake off the fatigue.

The next thing he knew, he woke up, and it was already seven o’clock.

Gordon checked the time and figured it was about time to knock on Easton’s door.

Just as he stepped out of his own room, he spotted Stella.

Gordon greeted her politely, “Hey, Ms. Weston.”

Stella nodded. “Is Easton skipping dinner tonight?”

“No, he is going,” Gordon replied.

Once Gordon was gone, Stella shot a message to Tom, telling him to use work as an excuse and find out which room Easton was staying in.

As the dinner was about to start, Easton was standing together with Gordon and Andrew.

The two families weren’t just relatives anymore. They were now closely tied business partners, and Andrew really cared about Easton, almost like he was his own son.
