Replacement Bride Left With His Baby (Sophia and Easton) novel Chapter 198

198 Chapter 198

198.Chapter 198

Easton’s first reaction was that Stella was totally drunk, and talking about David and Murray tonight must’ve reminded her of those tough times back then.

Easton pushed her away, steadying her. “Stella, you’re drunk.”

She leaned in, still pretending to be drunk. “Yeah, only when I’m drunk can I see you. Murray, you know what? I had your child. He’s just like you.”

Easton saw she was pretty wasted and held her up. “Stella, which room are you staying in? Let me walk you back.”

“Room? Oh, I’m right over there. Murray, I have so much to tell you. Will you hold me?” Stella kept dropping Murray’s name every other sentence, still acting drunk,

Easton knew just how deep things had run between them back then, and he couldn’t shake off the guilt he felt over Murray’s death.

He took a deep breath and helped Stella toward her room.

Minnie had been hiding out in the hallway since early on, taking pictures of them as they went into the room together. Once they were inside, she put away her camera and slipped off.

Easton lay her down on the bed and turned to leave, but Stella grabbed him from behind. “Please, don’t leave.” Easton pried her hands off him, sounding clearly annoyed. “Stella, you’re drunk.”

He let go, and Stella flopped back onto the bed.

Easton figured she’d passed out, so he switched off the lights and headed for the door.

But he barely made it a few steps before his head started spinning and his body felt like it was on fire.

He held his head, bracing himself against the wall, struggling to take a few more steps, but the feeling just kept getting worse.

Stella was suddenly right next to him, already slipping off her clothes. “Please, don’t go,” she said.

She reached up, trying to loosen Easton’s tie.

Easton reacted fast, grabbing her hand. “Stella, what the hell did you put in this room?”

Stella was caught off guard. She hadn’t expected Easton to catch on so fast. No way could she let him realize tonight was all part of her plan.

She kept mumbling drunkenly, “Murray, you never said no to me before.”

Easton’s head was spinning, and he felt worse by the second. He shoved Stella to the floor. “Stella, snap out of it. I’m not Murray.”

Stella scrambled up and threw her arms around him again, feeling the heat coming off his body.

She reached for him in a way that made it clear what she wanted, but Easton grabbed her hand and tossed her aside.

He knew Stella was wasted, and there was definitely something off about this room. He had to get out of here, fast.

He cast a shadowed, unreadable glance at Stella, who was slumped on the floor nearby.

He pinched his thigh hard, trying to snap himself back to reality, and braced himself against the wall as he forced his way toward the door.

Stella couldn’t believe how tough Easton was. She’d loaded the room with enough of the stuff, and even her perfume was meant to make things worse for him.

Easton had held out for over ten minutes, and he still managed to drag himself to the door.

“I feel awful. Can you help me?” Stella pleaded.

She was under the influence too, and he’d tossed her aside twice already. There was no way she could stop

him from leaving now.

She called out to him in a low voice, but Easton didn’t even bother to respond.

Stella was resentful, but she could only watch as Easton opened the door and walked out.

She couldn’t hold on any longer. Clinging to the cabinet, she staggered and bumped into something, then her legs gave out and she blacked out right there on the floor.

Easton, sweating bullets and barely keeping it together, stumbled back into his room. He grabbed his phone, meaning to call Gordon for help.
