Replacement Bride Left With His Baby (Sophia and Easton) novel Chapter 201

201.Chapter 201

“If you actually ended up with Easton because of this, I figured I’d have a lot to gain by sticking close to you.”

Minnie was taking all the blame onto herself.

Stella let go of Minnie’s arm, disappointment written all over her face. “Minnie, how could you even think that way? Easton and I are just friends. And who told you I’m into Easton?”

Minnie went all in, putting on a whole sob story. “Stella, stop lying to yourself. Easton’s been taking care of you and David for years. Sure, you still have feelings for Mr. Hunter, but can you really say you don’t care about Easton at all?”

“Minnie, you’re being ridiculous,” Stella said, her voice trembling, all the while sneaking a peek at Easton on the couch.

Easton listened to them, his expression turning even grimmer.

Then Stella was grounded next to Minnie and said, “Easton, Minnie’s been picked on by those snobby heiresses ever since she was little, all because of her family background.

“All these years, I’ve been pretty much her only real friend. She finally managed to start her own business, and now she just messed up this one time. Please, for my sake, can you give her a break just this once?”

Easton uncrossed his legs, pulled the ashtray closer, and stubbed out his cigarette. His voice was icy. “Stella, do you really think your reputation carries any weight with me?”

Stella’s face went pale.

“Gordon, bring Ms. Hayes to Jackson and Mrs. Hayes. Tell them if they don’t want Hayes Group to vanish from Jenston anytime soon, they’d better show me some real sincerity,” Easton said, his voice icy.

“Yes, Mr. Foster,” Gordon replied.

Gordon nodded to the bodyguards, signaling them to escort Ms. Hayes out.

Minnie was terrified, clinging desperately to Stella’s sleeve. “Stella, please, talk to Easton for me. I don’t want to go back to the Hayes family. Help me! Stella, say something, please. After everything I’ve done for you, you can’t just leave me like this.”

The bodyguards quickly hauled Minnie away, but the heavy tension in the room lingered.

Stella’s heart was racing, but she knew she had to look out for herself. “Easton, what Minnie did was wrong, and I know I’m partly to blame, too.

“But I was really drunk last night. I honestly have no clue what happened. If you don’t believe me, just check the security cameras,” she said.

Easton stayed silent. A few minutes later, Gordon walked in with a USB stick of security footage.

The footage showed that, besides Stella herself, only two shady-looking guys snuck into her room during the dinner last night. They didn’t stay long, and it was assumed that’s when the drug was planted.

Then, early this morning, the cameras caught Minnie bringing those same two guys back into Stella’s room.

After watching the footage, Easton’s expression stayed just as grim. His anger didn’t budge one bit.

Stella was still shaken, but at least the video proved she had nothing to do with it, and she finally breathed a sigh of relief.’ Thank God it was all on Minnie, she thought to herself.

Easton got to his feet, looking down at Stella with a face as cold as ice. “Stella, you’d better drop whatever schemes you’ve got in mind. Maybe you’re clean this time, but don’t let it happen again. I won’t be so forgiving next time.”

After Easton left, Stella slumped to the floor, completely drained. If she hadn’t thought on her feet, she would’ve been the one thrown out today.

She glared at the doorway, unwilling to accept defeat. Then she dug out her phone, sent an anonymous email to Sophia, and attached every photo Minnie had secretly snapped last night, shots of Easton helping her back to her room in the hallway.
