‘Seriously, where’s the decency? Is there even a line anymore?’ Emily thought, totally stunned.

‘No way… Is May actually expecting me to pick one of these guys to take home tonight?’ Emily freaked out inside.

Sophia had no idea Emily was having all these thoughts, and honestly, she was too busy to care. The young club guys next to her kept calling her “miss” in the sweetest voices, practically dripping with charm.

She just gave them an awkward smile and didn’t pay them much attention.

Sophia had been knocking back drinks all night. She couldn’t tell if it was the thrill of being surrounded by so much eye candy or if her mood was just wrecked after seeing Irene at the hospital this morning.

Either way, she just wanted to keep drinking and drown out all the complicated feelings inside.

After hearing everything Easton said this morning, Sophia found herself thinking about him nonstop. Even after she clocked out, no matter what she did, he was still stuck in her mind.

She knew he was probably just making things up, but part of her actually wanted it all to be true.

By midnight, Sophia could see Emily was already pretty wasted. She called out to May, who was partying hard on the other side of the room.

“May, Emily’s drunk. Let’s get out of here,” Sophia said.

May nodded and asked one of the hosts to go get the manager so they could pay the bill.

Sophia pulled a bank card out of her bag and handed it to the manager. “Use this one.”

After the manager swiped the card, Sophia realized she’d grabbed the wrong one.

It was the card Easton had given her after the divorce.

She didn’t even want it at the time, but Irene ended up mailing it to her in Japoria. All these years, it had just been sitting forgotten in her wallet.

Out of nowhere, a thought popped into Sophia’s head.

‘Crap, what if this card is linked to Easton’s phone? What if he gets a notification about the transaction?’ Sophia’s mind went into overdrive.

She took a deep breath, feeling like she wanted to crawl into a hole and disappear. This was peak social death.

In her panic, she accidentally grabbed the wrong half-empty bottle from the table and downed it all at once.

It wasn’t until she’d finished that she realized she’d just chugged the hard liquor May had ordered earlier.

As May got up, she walked over to Sophia and Emily. “Sophia, Emily, come on, it’s late. We’ve all got overtime tomorrow.”

Sophia was so wasted she practically blacked out, while Emily, her eyes half-closed, glanced around at the now-empty room, feeling super annoyed.

“Where did all the cuties go? Why is the room so empty? Sophia, May, hurry up and get some more in here! Let’s keep going.” Emily slurred.

May facepalmed. ‘Seriously, one’s knocked out and the other’s still thirsting after pretty boys. What a mess.”

Easton instinctively pulled out his phone to check it.
