“Even though you were all buttoned up, I instantly recognized the bracelet on your wrist. I was the one who brought it back to you from the nursing home, so it stuck in my memory.

“Later, I had someone look into it and found out that the bracelet was a custom piece you designed for yourself to celebrate Rothea Designs’ first anniversary. That was when I knew for sure, you’re Evan.

“Sophia, or should I call you Evan? Edward really did a good job keeping you hidden. For five years in Japoria, the only record of you was at the art academy. Turns out, you were using a different name the whole time over there.”

After Easton finished, Sophia stood up and snatched her bag from him. “Easton, Crestview Group and Foster Group are already business partners.

“Someone would have told you about me being Evan sooner or later. Now that you’ve figured it out yourself, I’ve got nothing else to add.”

Just as Sophia reached the front door, she suddenly spun around, marched back to Easton, and stuck out her hand. “Hand over the drawing.”

Easton’s lips curled into a mischievous smile. “I really like this drawing. Why not let me have it? Consider it the fee for your stay last night.”

Sophia was annoyed at first and wanted to just snatch it back, but Easton, that shameless guy, just held it way out of her reach.

She didn’t want to hang around his place any longer. It was just a drawing. Might as well let him keep it, whatever.

Sophia pursed her lips. “Just make sure you take good care of it. It’s a kid’s heartfelt gift, after all.”

Easton nodded. “Of course. I’ll frame it myself tonight and put it up in my bedroom.”

Sophia pressed her lips together, didn’t say another word, and headed straight for the door.

Back at her place, Sophia dropped her bag and collapsed onto the couch, trying to piece together what had happened last night.

‘Seriously, why did Easton end up hauling me over to his place next door out of nowhere?’ she wondered.

Her memories were all jumbled, bits of being in the car, some blurry scenes from the bedroom, but she just couldn’t remember everything. Still, she was pretty sure nothing had happened between them last night, which made her feel a little

better.

Sophia pulled out her phone and dialed May, but when May answered, her voice was all raspy. Sophia double-checked the caller ID, yep, it was definitely May. ‘Why does she sound like that?’ Sophia wondered.

She suddenly wished she hadn’t put two and two together so quickly.

Sophia hesitated, “May, you…”

May instantly sobered up at the sound of her name, and her eyes widened even more when she glanced at the person next to her.

She quickly got up and made a beeline for the bathroom.

“Sophia, I… I’ll talk to you later when I’m back at Crestview Group. I’m hanging up now,” May said. Her voice flustered as she hung up in a rush.

After hanging up, May slipped into a bathrobe and marched over to the bed, starting to whack the guy who was still fast asleep.

“Ryan, you jerk, get up! Why did you drag me to a hotel for the night?” she snapped.

Ryan blinked sleepily at her, then reached out, pulled May into his arms, and drawled, “This is my place. Why would I take you to a hotel when this is my own home?”

May got even more pissed. “Are you out of your mind? Why did you bring me back to your place?”

Ryan just smirked, “You tell me.”
