231.Chapter 231
“Got it! I’ll be there in a flash, wouldn’t dare keep the princess waiting,” May replied.

True to her word, May didn’t keep Sophia waiting long. Just over ten minutes later, May’s car rolled up to the garage.
The Hayes Group’s anniversary party was held at one of their hotels, far from downtown. By the time Sophia and May’ finished getting dressed and got their makeup done, it was almost eight when they finally arrived.
But the party had only just started.
As they walked in, Jackson was on stage, delivering his speech.
Everyone was focused on Jackson up on stage, but as soon as Sophia walked in, the crowd couldn’t help but buzz. People started whispering and glancing her way.
The socialites couldn’t take their eyes off her. Sophia was rocking a gorgeous red silk robe, with a gleaming, expensive hairpin tucked into her elegant bun, her perfect swan-like neck on full display.
The dress hugged her curves in all the right places, like it was custom-made just for her.
The robe swept down to her ankles, and on Sophia, she looked like she’d just stepped out of a phoenix painting. She gave off this vibe that was both regal and mysterious. Everyone was totally stunned.
Even Frank, up on stage, was completely stunned when he saw her walk in.
He thought, ‘Sophia looks out of this world tonight, no one else in the room even comes close.’
The socialites were practically burning with jealousy. Especially those who’d dressed to impress tonight, hoping to win
Frank’s favor, now, seeing Sophia, their envy was so intense they wanted to tear her to shreds.
May, standing right next to Sophia, could feel the undeniable heat of jealousy radiating from all around them.
Sophia ignored all the stares and snide comments, just took May by the arm and quietly stood with her on the other side of the hall, keeping to themselves.
“So, are you satisfied now?” Sophia teased May, taking a sip from her glass.
May flashed a brilliant smile. “Satisfied. Very much.”
Sophia couldn’t help but laugh, shaking her head.
Easton hadn’t planned on attending the Hayes Group’s anniversary party tonight, The day he got back from his business trip to Menolia, he was already feeling under the weather as soon as he stepped off the plane, thanks to a nasty cold virus.
Worried about bringing something back from abroad and possibly infecting Sophia, especially since they lived so close, he decided to avoid Grandview Estate altogether and went straight to Windmere Estate instead.
After a few days of rest, he’d pretty much recovered, just a slight cough lingering, but nothing that would keep him from going out as usual.
Jackson went out of his way to call Easton today, really eager for him to come, and hoping that what happened with Minnie wouldn’t mess up the decades-long bond between the Foster and Hayes families.
Most importantly, as Minnie’s dad, Jackson knew he should apologize to Easton face-to-face.
Easton thought Jackson had done a decent job smoothing things over, and honestly, he didn’t want to disrespect the guy’s goodwill. So, in the end, he agreed to show up.
When Easton arrived, Jackson personally arranged for him to have an exclusive suite on the second floor, making sure he had a quiet place to relax away from the crowd.
But he hadn’t even settled in for a minute before he spotted the woman he’d been missing for a whole week.
‘Of course, she’s all dolled up, turning heads, and it’s for Frank’s big night. Just perfect, Easton thought, his jaw clenched in frustration.
His face instantly darkened, and a cold, intimidating aura radiated from him.
Ryan, sitting across from Easton, could instantly sense the icy tension radiating from him.
“Mr. Foster, want me to go down and personally invite Sophia up here?” Ryan asked, trying to lighten the mood.
Easton lit a cigarette, his voice low and clearly annoyed. “No need.”
Then, keeping a totally serious face, Easton turned to Gordon behind him. “Go arrange for Ms. Roth to have a brand-new dress.”

Ryan’s eyes widened. ‘Damn, he’s really pulling out all the stops tonight, he thought, totally floored.
