Easton was holding Sophia when they landed hard on the rock, the jolt snapping her awake. For a moment, she vaguely felt someone beneath her.

Sophia slowly opened her eyes. When she saw Easton, her mind went blank for a second. ‘Easton? What is he doing here?” she thought.

She called out to him. “Easton, wake up! Easton, what’s wrong? Wake up, please.”

Sophia looked up and saw the helicopter still circling overhead. In that instant, she realized that Easton had come for her.

Not long after, two more helicopters swooped in. The rescue team quickly lowered the ladder and climbed down. “Ms. Roth, are you alright?” one of them called out.

Sophia shook her head; tears welled up in her eyes. “Please, help Mr. Foster first! He’s passed out, and I don’t know if he’s hurt anywhere else. Please, be careful with him.”

The rescue team climbed down one by one. They strapped Easton securely to a stretcher and quickly loaded him onto the helicopter. After ensuring Sophia’s safety, they then brought her aboard as well.

Sophia kept clinging to Easton’s hand, her voice choked with emotion. “Easton, please wake up. Don’t do this to me.” Her fear kept growing.

The helicopter landed quickly on the rooftop of Redrock City’s best hospital. Ryan and Gordon had just arrived and were already waiting there.

Gordon hurried over to Sophia as she and Easton got off the helicopter. “Ms. Roth, are you alright?” he asked. Sophia shook her head, tears streaming down her face. “Hurry, get a doctor for Easton. He hit his head on a rock.” Gordon handed Sophia a fresh coat. “Ms. Roth, please relax and put this on. I’ve arranged for a nurse to take you for a full check-up. Mr. Howard is here now to look after Mr. Foster.”

Seeing the nurses and doctors wheel Easton away, Sophia followed right behind them. “I’m okay, you don’t have to check me,” she said.

Gordon said nothing more and hurried after Sophia.

Seeing all the doctors and nurses around, Sophia’s nerves finally started to settle. Once she’d pulled herself together, she filled Gordon in on what had happened today and told him to send someone back out there to find Paolo.

Gordon nodded. “Don’t worry, I’ll take care of it right away.”

Sophia followed closely behind Ryan and the doctors, her eyes never leaving Easton as they wheeled him into the operating

room.

Ryan reassured her, “Don’t worry. Mr. Foster’s tough. He’ll make it through.”

Sophia nodded.

Just then, a nurse came over and said, “Ms. Roth, Mr. Lowell got you some clean clothes. Let me help you change, and I’ll check your wounds too.”

Sophia glanced at the operating room door, still anxious, but she knew she had to get out of her soaked clothes or she’d end up sick. “Okay. Thank you,” she replied.

Gordon was really thoughtful. He had everything taken care of. Sophia went straight back outside the operating room after changing into clean clothes and getting her wounds treated.

Once Gordon had finished what Sophia asked, he returned. Spotting her in fresh clothes, he quickly brought her a cup of hot ginger tea. “Ms. Roth, Mr. Foster’s still in surgery. Why don’t you come sit down for a while?”

Sophia nodded slightly. “What’s the situation now? Did you manage to find anyone?”

Gordon nodded. “We found your bodyguard. He was left unconscious right where you first investigated. He’s already been brought to the hospital. He has multiple fractures, and the doctors are treating his injuries now. I’ll take you to see him

soon.”
