Instead, he just leaned over and suggested to her some food, his voice soft. “Go on, eat. Edward said you’ve loved this since you were little.”
Sophia took a deep breath, telling herself to just suck it up.
For the rest of the meal, Irene and Edward chatted away, while Sophia kept quiet, worried they’d start talking about her and Easton again, which would be a total nightmare.
By the time dinner was over, it was already nine o’clock. Irene needed to get home to take her medicine and rest, so Easton didn’t waste any time; he had Gordon drive her back to Windmere Estate right away.
Annie was taking Edward home so he could rest, too.
After watching everyone else leave, Sophia and Easton were the only ones left standing at the hotel entrance.
“Come on, let’s head back,” Easton said.
The way he said it just came off kind of couple-y, like they really were husband and wife heading home together after sending off the family.
The irritation Sophia had been bottling up all night finally spilled out. She said, clearly annoyed, “Easton, Irene’ s already left. Isn’t it time to drop the act?”
Easton smiled, keeping his tone patient. “Sorry, I honestly didn’t know Irene would show up at the office today. They’re gone, but aren’t you heading back to Grandview Estate, too? Just heading the same way, nothing more.”
His explanation was perfectly reasonable, but for some reason, she still felt like picking a fight for no reason.
“I’ve got something to handle tonight. My assistant’s coming to pick me up, so you go ahead, Mr. Foster,” Sophia said.
Now it was Easton’s turn to look a little miffed. ‘Seriously? What could she possibly have going on this late, and she’s all dressed up too?’ he thought.
“Well, that’s convenient,” Easton replied smoothly. “I had a few drinks, so I can’t drive.
“Gordon’s busy taking Irene back to Windmere Estate and won’t be back anytime soon. How about you give me a lift to Grandview Estate, Ms. Roth?”
Sophia was left speechless. In the end, she was still stuck going with him after all.
Just then, Paolo pulled up in the car. Easton, ever the gentleman, opened the back door for Sophia, then got in with practiced ease, like he’d done it a hundred times before.
Paolo had never met Easton in person before, but honestly, no one in Menolia or Jenston didn’t know him.
He was a business titan, the biggest supplier of new energy in Menolia. As soon as Easton stepped into the car, Paolo finally understood what it meant to have that commanding presence.
Compared to his boss, the man in the back seat had this mysterious vibe and a kind of pressure you couldn’t quite explain.
“Mr. Foster, hello,” Paolo greeted him respectfully.
Easton just nodded in response.
Once Sophia got in, she was busy tapping away on her phone, dealing with work stuff.
Easton just sat back, watching her with a laid-back smile. For the first time, he realized how much he actually enjoyed just quietly sitting next to her like this.
After a bit, Sophia finished up and put her phone away. She stole a glance at Easton.
He’d taken off his jacket, his black shirt sleeves rolled up to his elbows, two buttons undone at the collar, one hand resting casually on the window.
He was effortlessly radiating that mature, masculine appeal, whether he was trying or not.

V75 voucher Sophia was instantly captivated. ‘Ugh, this damn guy is just unfairly attractive no matter what he wears, she thought, turning her head away and letting out a silent sigh.
‘Sophia, seriously, you’re so hopeless. You almost let yourself get charmed by that smug look of his again, she scolded herself.
Easton didn’t call her out for checking him out, but he’d already caught all her little glances and gestures.
He let a soft smile slip, his eyes filled with a rare tenderness.
