272.Chapter 272
Easton raised his brows, a clear smile tugging at his lips as his eyes lingered on her.
His tone was casual. “If you really want to thank me, just buy me dinner.”
Or I could just get you a gift,” Sophia offered. Honestly, that’d be way easier than dinner.
“I don’t need any of that Easton replied, shaking his head.
Sophia was about to say something, but Easton leaned down a bit, meeting her gaze. “If you don’t want to, that’ s cool. But I’ll take the thank you.”
Sophia realized they were standing way too close, and her ears grew warm.
Easton straightened up and headed for his door. Just as he reached it, Sophia called out, “Are you free tomorrow night? Any food you like?”
Easton smiled down at her. “I’ll eat whatever you want. It’s late, you should get some rest. Let me know the time and place tomorrow.”
As he opened the door, he turned to her. “Or I could pick you up.” Sophia paused, a bit surprised. “Oh, I’ll message you tomorrow.”
With that, she turned and went into her own place.
Easton watched her go, a smile tugging at his lips. “Silly girl.”
He let out a soft sigh before heading into his own apartment.
At Crestview Group, Sophia had just gotten back from a meeting at the Maritime Authority when her phone. rang; it was Jason from Rothea Designs. “Jason, what’s up?” she asked.
“Evan, we’ve finally closed the deal with Virginia Eastman’s hotel chain in Haverton. Unless something goes wrong, we’ll be signing the contract next Monday.
“But there’s one catch; she wants to meet our design director, which is you,” Jason said.
Sophia was genuinely surprised. Ever since last year, Rothea Designs had been trying to connect with contacts in Haverton, with Virginia’s hotel chain as their ultimate target.
But she’d always turned them down, not even putting Rothea Designs on her shortlist. After a while, Sophia had given up.
But then, during the New Year, Jason actually got a call from Virginia’s assistant, saying they were interested in working with Rothea Designs. Sophia and Jason had spent days in video conferences over it.
Now, Jason was saying Virginia wanted to meet her in person. Sophia was honestly taken aback.
“Sure, just let me know when you’ve set up a time with Virginia. I’ll head back to Japoria first, then we can go to Haverton together,” Sophia said.
“It’s not urgent. Virginia said after the contract’s signed, she’ll be tied up with other business and won’t be in Haverton for the next few months. She wants us to wait for her call,” Jason explained.
Sophia nodded. “Alright.”
After hanging up, Sophia checked the time; it was almost quitting time. She’d promised to treat Easton to dinner tonight, and she’d nearly forgotten.
She grabbed her phone and sent Easton a WhatsApp message with the dinner time and the location of the seafood place.
Easton replied right away: [Got it. I know where that is. Just wait for me at Crestview Group. I’m on my way to pick you up.]
Sophia was about to say no, but then she remember her to warn the shop for maintenance. She had no

choice but to let Easton pick her up.
Sophia: [Okay.]
Sophia kept working, and half an hour later, Easton called her.
“I’m here. Come on down,” he said.
Sophia quickly gathered her things, grabbed her bag, and headed downstairs.
To her surprise, Easton had driven over himself instead of having Gordon do it for him.
