Replacement Bride Left With His Baby (Sophia and Easton) novel Chapter 316

316.Chapter 316

316.Chapter 316

Alex sat at his computer, nodding. He said, “Don’t worry. Crestview Group still hasn’t bounced back from its recent losses. Today, we’re going all in. I refuse to believe we can’t beat them.”

Alex thought, ‘Derrick may not even make it out of the police station today.’

George was restless with worry. Weston Group barely had any cash flow left. They were relying on outside financing and bank loans just to stay afloat. If they lost today, it’d be the end of the line for them.

But Alex was riding high on confidence.

Thinking about how things were going with David, Alex smirked with a hint of malice.

At Foster Group, Easton had just found out that David had been kidnapped, and then Stella sent him a photo. The figure in the picture did look a bit like Derrick from behind.

Even though he was worried sick about David, Easton wasn’t about to point fingers at anyone without solid proof.

Plus, Derrick and Sophia had a pretty tangled past, and Easton just couldn’t see any reason why Derrick would want to snatch David.

Earlier, Easton had called Fletcher to help look for David’s whereabouts and get the surveillance footage as soon as possible. He also told Gordon to check if Derrick had been at the mall around that time.

After the Weston family called the police, the cops had already taken the surveillance footage. It took Fletcher some time and a few favors to finally get it back from them.

It wasn’t until early morning that the original surveillance footage was sent to Easton’s phone.

Easton watched the video and saw that Derrick really had been at the mall today. After his client meeting, he was just killing time by himself in the mall.

The maid and David had walked right past Derrick, and not long after, David disappeared.

Gordon knocked and came in. He said, “Mr. Foster, Derrick’s been at the police station since yesterday afternoon for questioning, and he still hasn’t come out.”

Easton set his phone aside, not the least bit surprised.

He said, “Alright, tell the police to push for answers as soon as possible. They need to question Derrick, but also the maid who was with David. And call Fletcher. Have him put more people on the search for David.”

“Yes, Mr. Foster,” Gordon replied.

Easton stood up, grabbed his phone, and called Ryan. He said, “Derrick’s in some trouble: he’s been picked up by the cops, and there’s still no update on what’s going on.

“I don’t care if he’s innocent or not. My only concern is Crestview Group’s current crisis. Keep a close watch on Crestview Group, and if Weston Group makes any moves, you guys need to strike first.”

Ryan replied, “No problem. We’ll stay on top of things here. And about the info on Sophia’s parents, I’ve already sent someone to sneak into the Weston Group and the Weston residence to grab it.

“It should be taken care of in the next couple of days.”

Right then, Easton got a call from Fletcher.

“Mr. Foster, the kid’s been found. He’s on his way to the hospital right now,” Fletcher said.

Easton froze for a second, then snatched up his car keys and bolted for the hospital.

Stella had barely stepped off the plane when her phone rang: it was the hospital.

The caller said, “Ms. Stella, please come immediately. David was trapped in the trunk of a car all night, and the lack of oxygen has put him into a deep coma.”

Stella’s face drained of color. She thought, ‘How could things end up like this?

Stella seethed inwardly, ‘Sophia, you bitch, this is all you. You must’ve told Derrick to take David.’
