320 Chapter 320
320.Chapter 320
May’s eyes sparkled as she looked at Derrick, and she couldn’t help but admire him from the bottom of her heart.
Emily walked over to Sophia to give her the rundown. “Sophia, you have no idea. After you left this morning, we got hit with another wave of attacks. Our team was almost overwhelmed..
“Then, out of nowhere, someone mysterious had our back and kept Crestview Group afloat, holding out until Mr. Grant finally made it back.”
Sophia nodded. “Maybe Mr. Grant has planned for all this in advance. Anyway, as long as we’re safe now, that’s what
counts.”
Paolo hurried over, looking anxious. “Ms. Roth, now that Mr. Grant’s back, does that mean
“Yeah. Don’t worry. Mr. Grant’s in the clear,” Sophia replied.
everything’s settled?”
Derrick sat at his computer, scanning the morning’s numbers. ‘Weston Group showed no mercy. They were out to destroy us. Luckily, someone was pulling strings behind the scenes for Crestview Group.
‘If not, even if I rushed back, there would be nothing I could do to save the situation, he thought.
After an afternoon of hard work, Derrick believed the game had gone on long enough, and it was time to bring it to an end. Ten minutes before the market closed, Alex sat frozen in front of his computer, completely in shock. Weston Group had been utterly crushed today.
By now, they were drowning in debt, five billion and counting.
George watched as Alex slumped into his chair, already knowing it was over.
His heart raced, his breath growing shallow, and before he knew it, he collapsed to the floor. It was only then that Alex realized his father had lost consciousness.
Alex couldn’t hide the pallor on his face as he watched everyone in the conference room frantically carry his father out. That was when it finally hit him, he was teetering on the brink of despair.
‘Impossible. There’s no way I have lost. How could this happen?’ Alex’s mind was reeling, and he refused to accept reality. Hands trembling, he snatched up his phone and dialed Stella, practically screaming, “Is Easton with you? Tell me. Right now.”
Stella had barely answered before Alex’s frantic yelling blasted through the line. Panicked that Easton might overhear from inside the hospital room, she quickly covered the phone and hurried out into the hallway.
“Are you nuts? Why are you yelling like that? He was just here in the hospital room,” Stella snapped.
“Stella, the Weston family is bankrupt. We’re drowning in debt to the bank. Do whatever it takes to stall him. I’m going to the hospital now,” Alex barked.
Stella was still in shock from Alex’s frantic call when his yelling startled her again. “Did you hear me?”
“Yeah… I got it,” Stella replied, her voice shaky.
Stella hung up, beads of sweat breaking out on her forehead. ‘How did it come to this? Weston Group… Bankrupt?” she pondered.
Stella was still reeling from the call when Easton suddenly stepped out of the hospital room.
She saw he looked like he was getting ready to head out, and Alex’s desperate words echoed in her mind. She needed to stall him, no matter what.
“Easton, are you leaving?” Stella asked, trying to sound casual.
Easton gave her a frosty glance, clearly seeing through her intentions. His tone was icy and flat. “Stella, if your father and brother want to meet me, have them bring the documents I asked for and come to Foster Group.
“You’re coming, too. There will be someone here to watch David. You don’t need to stay here.”
Stella met Easton’s eyes, which were as cold and sharp as a dagger, and it drained all the color from her face.
