Charles got fired up just thinking about all the dirty tricks Stella pulled. “Easton, it’s not your fault. It’s that scheming Stella. She’s been plotting revenge against Sophia for years. She got Mr. Hunter killed and kept you in the dark for years.”

Easton didn’t even hear a word Charles said. He leaned back on the couch, head tilted up, one hand pressed to his forehead, eyes closed.

“Just stop. You guys should go. I want to be alone for a while,” he said.

Ryan looked at Easton and had no idea how to make him feel better.

Of course, they didn’t leave. They just kept him company, drinking in silence until he finally knocked out. Only then did they call the driver to pick him up.
