Replacement Bride Left With His Baby (Sophia and Easton) novel Chapter 349

349.Chapter 349

After Sophia left, Easton’s gaze lost all its light. The bitter smile on his lips was hollow, and it never touched his eyes.

From now on, they weren’t even friends. Not even that.

When Derrick and Julian saw Sophia come out of the room, they hurried over, their faces filled with concern. Is Easton okay?

Sophia shook her head. Thank God, not much acid actually hit his back. If it had been any more, the consequences wouldve been unimaginable.

Annie and May rushed over and hugged Sophia tightly. We were so scared! Thank God that Easton got to you in time. I cant even imagine what would’ve happened if all that acid had hit you.

You could’ve been disfigured,Derrick said quietly from the side.

May’s voice was shaking with anger. Who could be so vicious? Using acid to hurt you?

Just then, Ryan walked over. Mr. Roth, Mr. Grant, we’ve already checked the security footage. The woman who attacked Ms. Roth and Mr. Foster managed to slip out of the hotel in all the chaos.

We spoke to the hotel staff, and none of them recognized her. She definitely wasn’t one of their employees. Looks like she must have snuck in just to pull this off.

Derrick frowned. Ryan, if it’s not too much trouble, could you get me a copy of the original video of the attack? Maybe I can track her down.

Ryan nodded and told his assistant to take care of it.

Sophia went back to the Roth residence with Julian and the others. Annie was still anxious. I thought with the Weston family out of the picture, some missing, some locked up, no one would ever hurt you again. But after tonight….

Sophia, you should really move back to the Roth residence. Just thinking about something like this happening again gives me chills.

Sophia was still shaken. If Easton hadn’t thrown himself in harm’s way for her tonight, she would’ve been the one seriously hurt.

Sophia knew that moving back to the Roth residence would finally let Edward and Julian relax a little. As a single mom living out there with Lucas, they never felt at ease.

Sophia didn’t want her family to worry so much about her, so she figured she might as well listen to them and move back

home.

She nodded, squeezing Annie’s hand. Alright, I understand.

Annie’s face lit up. Great! I’ll go with you tomorrow to help Lucas find a school.

Over the next few days, Annie stuck by Sophia’s side, helping her check out schools and taking Lucas out to have fun.

Don’t worry, Mom. I went to see Easton yesterday, and he’s getting better. Okay, once I get it, I’ll give it to him right away,Annie said to Evelyn over the phone.

Sophia and Annie were in the kitchen making a cake when they overheard Evelyn calling from Harlinton. From their conversation, it was clear Evelyn was asking about Easton’s recovery.

Ever since that night at the birthday party, Sophia hadn’t run into Easton again. Annie went to check on him every day, but Sophia never brought him up herself, not even once.

Sometimes, when she saw Annie come back from Grandview Estate, she’d just offhandedly ask how his injuries were. Sophia thought, After all, he got hurt saving me and I owe him at least that much.

She figured Easton probably didn’t go back to Windmere Estate much these days. Irene’s mind was still foggy, and she still believed the two of them were living together at Silvermoon Bay.

After Annie hung up, Sophia said offhandedly, Annie, if you’re going to see Easton in the next couple of days, could you stop by my apartment at Grandview Estate and bring back some documents for me?
